SECTION 36783, Block I: Area, 8 acres 2 roods 7 perches.
Upset price, £30.
All flat land, ploughable. Soil light and stony. No
water on the section. Situated about fourteen miles from
Hinds Railway-station by good road.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this fifth day of June, one thousand nine hun-
dred and fifteen.

Notifying Land in Canterbury Land District for Sale by
Public Auction.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred
upon me by the one-hundred-and-twenty-sixth section
of the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile,
Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New
Zealand, do hereby appoint Thursday, the nineteenth day
of August, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen, as
the time at which the land described in the Schedule
hereto shall be sold by public auction; and I do hereby
fix the price at which the said land shall be sold as that
mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.

SURVEY DISTRICT.

SECTION 36786, Block IV: Area, 16 acres 2 roods. Upset
price, £33.
Mostly rocky faces of gully, covered with scrub and a little
rough feed.

Opening National Endowment Land in Wellington Land
District for Selection.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur
William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor
of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that
the national endowment lands described in the Schedule
hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on
Tuesday, the seventeenth day of August, one thousand
nine hundred and fifteen, at the rental mentioned in the
said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said lands
shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the
said Act.
SCHEDULE.
WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.—KAIRANGA COUNTY.—TE
KAWAU SURVEY DISTRICT.
Lower Aorangi Block.—First-class Land.
SECTION 1, Block XVI: Area, 116 acres 3 roods 7 perches;
capital value, £2,090; half-yearly rent, £41 16s.
Weighted with £20, valuation for improvements.
Section 2, Block XVI: Area, 115 acres 3 roods 9 perches;
capital value, £2,050; half-yearly rent, £41.
Weighted with £45, valuation for improvements.
Situated about thirteen miles from Palmerston North.
The best access is by way of the Palmerston-Foxton Railway
to Rangitoto, and thence by metalled road for two miles and
a half to the Hoihere Bridge; thence by an unformed road on
the eastern side of the Oroua River for a distance of about
half a mile to the southern boundary of Section 1.
The land is all flat, and consists of rich alluvial soil. A
portion of each section is, at times, subject to flood from the
overflowing of the Oroua River. An area of about 20 acres
on each section at the western end abutting on the road and
the Oroua River is considered to be free from flood, and will
afford suitable homestead-sites. These sites are for the most
part in English grass.
The greater portion of each section is in an unimproved
condition. On Section 2 there is an area of about 48 acres
of mixed bush consisting principally of tawa and pukatea,
with cabbage-trees towards the eastern end; and on Section 1
there is an area of about 42 acres of bush of the same de-
scription. There are also small areas of flax on each section.
There is a fence along the northern boundary of Section 2,
which is approximately on the true boundary; there is also
a length of about 30 chains on the southern boundary of
Section 1 at the western end of section.
There is a creamery about half a mile from the sections.

this sixteenth day of June, one thousand nine
hundred and fifteen.

Opening Land in Taranaki Land District for Sale or Selection.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur
William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of
the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of
the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided by section one
hundred and fifty-four of the said Act, do hereby declare
that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open
for sale or selection on Monday, the twenty-third day of
August, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen; and also
that the land mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the
option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected
for occupation with right of purchase, or on renewable lease;
and I do hereby also fix the price at which the said land
shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said
Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said land shall be
sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provi-
sions of the Land Act, 1908.
SCHEDULE.
TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT.
SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Whangamomona County.—Mahoe Survey District.
SECTION 11, Block XI: Area, 1,014 acres; capital value,
£1,650. Occupation with right of purchase: Half-yearly
rent, £41 5s. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £33.
Weighted with £75, valuation for improvements consisting
of 30 acres felled and in grass.
Situated on the Tahunaroa Road about twelve miles and a
half distant from Whangamomona Railway-station by dray-
road. The section comprises easy valley on the front rising
to hilly country and a fairly high ridge at the back. With
the exception of the grassed area, the section is covered with
a heavy forest comprising tawa principally, with rimu, matai,
pukatea, rata, &c., with a few totara and tawhero, and a
dense undergrowth of supplejacks, tree-ferns, mahoe, konini,
raurekau, &c. The soil is of good quality, on papa formation;
and the section is well watered. Average height of ridges
above valleys is 600 ft.
Clifton County.—Upper Waitara Survey District.
Section 13, Block I: Area, 75 acres. Capital value, £120.
Occupation with right of purchase: Half-yearly rent, £3.
Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £2 8s.
Situated on Mokau Road about seventeen miles distant
from Waitara by metalled road (daily motor-car service), or
about seven miles from Urenui. There is a post-office, store,
and blacksmith’s shop at Uruti, about three miles distant by
metalled road. The section comprises steep broken country
with small flats along road frontage, running to high ridge
on the back line, with papa cliffs towards top of ridges, small
building-sites being obtainable on road frontage. The forest
is mixed heavy, comprising tawa, rata, pukatea, hinau, rimu,
mahoe, tawhero, &c., with a dense undergrowth of kiekie,
supplejacks, raurekau, kawakawa, kotukutuku, tree-ferns
wharangi, patete, mamaku, &c. The soil is of good strong
loam, resting on blue-papa formation; and the section is well
watered.
Clifton County.—Waro Survey District.
Section 7, Block XIII: Area, 905 acres. Capital value,
£460. Occupation with right of purchase: Half-yearly rent,
£11 10s. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £9 4s.
