HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to approve of the appointments, promotions, transfers, and resignations of the undermentioned officers of the Royal New Zealand Artillery, New Zealand Permanent Staff, and Territorial Force :—

Commands.

Colonel Ralph Anderson Chaffey, V.S., is granted an extension of his period of command of the Canterbury Military District until 31st May, 1916. Dated 1st June, 1915.

Lieutenant-Colonel the Honourable Robert Heaton Rhodes, T.D., M.P., 1st Mounted Rifles (Canterbury Yeomanry Cavalry), to command the Canterbury Mounted Rifles Brigade, vice Colonel Ralph Anderson Chaffey, V.D. Dated 17th March, 1915.

Staff.

Captain Hubert Havard Wright, Army Service Corps, to be Inspector of New Zealand Army Service Corps, vice Major A. C. Robinson, A.S.C., employed with the New Zealand Expeditionary Force. Dated 17th April, 1915.

Royal New Zealand Artillery.

Honorary Lieutenant William Orton Bradley is granted the temporary rank of Captain while employed as Instructor in Artillery at Trentham Camp. Dated 27th April, 1915.

New Zealand Permanent Staff.

Staff Sergeant-major Alfred Cheater (Warrant Officer) is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant while employed as Assistant Infantry Instructor at Trentham Camp. Dated 27th April, 1915.

1st Mounted Rifles (Canterbury Yeomanry Cavalry).

Lieutenant-Colonel the Honourable Robert Heaton Rhodes, T.D., M.P., to command the Canterbury Mounted Rifles Brigade, vice Colonel Ralph Anderson Chaffey. Dated 17th March, 1915.

New Zealand Garrison Artillery.

Lieutenant William Edward Orsborn resigns his commission. Dated 27th April, 1915.

Corps of New Zealand Engineers.

NEW ZEALAND RAILWAY BATTALIONS.

Captain (on probation) James Brown resigns his appointment. Dated 25th March, 1915.

Lieutenant Augustine Stuart Henderson is transferred to the Reserve of Officers. Dated 4th February, 1915.

NEW ZEALAND POST AND TELEGRAPH CORPS.

2nd Lieutenant Robert Francis Coghill Scott to be Lieutenant. Dated 8th March, 1915.

Honorary Lieutenant Palmer Otto Spry is granted the honorary rank of Captain while employed with the New Zealand Expeditionary Force. Dated 1st April, 1915.
