NOXIOUS WEEDS.

Special Order made 8th April, 1915.

“THAT gorse, ox-eye daisy, pennyroyal, ragwort, and St. John’s wort (plants mentioned in the Third Schedule) are hereby declared to be noxious weeds within the jurisdiction of the Parihaka Road Board, in the Parihaka Road District.”

The above resolution was confirmed on 13th May.

I hereby certify that this special order has been duly passed.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

WAIROA COUNTY COUNCIL.

Result of Poll.

THE following is the result of a poll of the ratepayers of the County of Wairoa taken on Saturday, the 15th day of May, 1915, on the proposal of the Wairoa County Council to establish a Bridge Fund under the provisions of sections 23 and 24 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913: Number of valid votes in favour of the proposal, 178; number of valid votes against the proposal, 68; informal votes, 1: total, 247.

There being more than the requisite three-fifths majority of valid votes recorded in favour of the proposal, I therefore declare the proposal carried.

Authorizing the Laying-off of Potter’s Avenue, in the Town of Avondale Extension No. 22, of a Width of not less than 66 ft.

IN pursuance of the power and authority conferred upon me by section 15 of the Land Act, 1908, I hereby authorize the laying-off of Potter’s Avenue, in the Town of Avondale Extension No. 22, Auckland Land District, of a width of not less than 66 ft. instead of 99 ft.

Authorizing the Laying-off of New Street, in the Town of Onehunga Extension No. 7, of a Width of not less than 66 ft.

IN pursuance of the power and authority conferred upon me by section 15 of the Land Act, 1908, I hereby authorize the laying-off of New Street, in the Town of Onehunga Extension No. 7, Auckland Land District, of a width of not less than 66 ft. instead of 99 ft.

Varied Notice (No. 3) fixing the Closing-hours of Tobacconists’ Shops in the City of Dunedin, under the Shops and Offices Act.

WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the tobacconists’ shops in the City of Dunedin, has been forwarded to me, desiring that all such shops within the city shall be closed in the evening of working-days as follows: At 8 p.m. on the evenings of Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday of each week, with the exceptions (1) of Christmas and New Year weeks commencing in each case on the Monday immediately prior to Christmas Day and New Year’s Day; (2) of the week of mid-winter show; and (3) that any shopkeeper whose shop is closed for the whole of any day which is generally observed as a public holiday in the city may keep open on the preceding working-day evening until 11 p.m.:

And whereas the Dunedin City Council has certified that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the tobacconists’ shops within the City of Dunedin:

Now, therefore, I, William Ferguson Massey, Minister of Labour, in pursuance of section 25 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1908, do hereby direct that from and after the 7th day of June, 1915, all tobacconists’ shops in the City of Dunedin shall be closed in accordance with such requisition.

The notice gazetted on the 11th June, 1914, fixing the closing-hours of all the (1) hairdressers’, (2) tobacconists’, and (3) hairdressers’ and tobacconists’ (combined) shops within the city is hereby varied accordingly.

Public Service Stores Tender Board.—Supply and Delivery of Wire.

Wellington, 26th May, 1915.

TENDERS will be received at the office of the Chairman (Government Printing Office) not later than 4 p.m. on Wednesday, the 16th June, 1915, for the supply and delivery, C.I.F. and E., main ports, New Zealand, of the undermentioned wire:—

100 tons, wire, hard-drawn, copper, 200 lb. per mile.
30 „ „ bronze, 40 lb. per mile.
50 „ „ iron, galvanized, 400 lb. per mile.
50 „ „ iron, galvanized, 200 lb. per mile.

Particulars and conditions of tendering may be obtained at the office of the Controller of Stores, Post and Telegraph Department, Wellington; the District Storekeeper, Post and Telegraph Department, Christchurch; or the Telegraph Engineers at Auckland and Dunedin.

Notice of Vesting of Land in the Public Trustee under the Public Trust Office Act, 1908, Part II, Unclaimed Lands.

WHEREAS the Public Trustee has, for the purpose of Part II of the Public Trust Office Act, 1908, and its amendments (relating to unclaimed lands), made due inquiries with respect to the land described in the Schedule hereunder, and the whereabouts of the owner thereof, and has, in respect of the said land, given the notices prescribed by section 66 of the said Act, and has in all respects complied with the provisions of that Act pertinent hereto: And whereas the Public Trustee has not thereby ascertained the whereabouts of the owner or of any agent of such owner in New Zealand, nor has such owner established his title to the said land, as required by the said Act: Now, I, the undersigned, the Public Trustee, hereby give notice that the said land is, under and by virtue of the said Act, vested in the Public Trustee as aforesaid, as from the date of the publication hereof, and will be administered under the Public Trust Office Act, 1908, and its amendments; the value of the land for the purposes of section 67 (d) of the said Act being less than £100.

Bounded on the north-east by a street, 292 links; on the south-east by Lot 68, 318 links; on the south-west by Lots 72 and 74, 360 links; and on the north-west by a street, 264 links: be the said several admeasurements a little more or less.
