APPLICATIONS will be received by the undersigned up till noon on the 25th May, 1915, for the position of Editor, Department of Agriculture, Industries, and Commerce, Wellington.

Applications must be addressed to the Secretary to the Public Service Commissioner, Wellington, and must be made on forms (P.S.C. 17A), which may be obtained at the principal post-offices.

Applicants must possess a good general knowledge of farming subjects of every kind, and must have had experience in agricultural journalism.
The appointment will be subject to the provisions of the Public Service Act, 1912.
The position will be graded in the Professional Division, Class D. Salary, £310 per annum, rising to £400.

Preference will be given to a man possessing a knowledge of the working and care of boilers.
The position will be graded in the General Division. Maximum, £170 per annum.

APPLICATIONS will be received by the undersigned up till noon on the 22nd May, 1915, for the position of Buildings Inspector, Public Works Department, Auckland.

Applications must be made on P.S.C. Form 17A, obtainable at principal post-offices, and are to be addressed to the Secretary to the Public Service Commissioner, Wellington.

Applicants must be first-class carpenters and joiners, and have a good knowledge of all branches of the building trades, also of cabinetmaking, upholstery, office fittings and appliances.

Applicants must be capable of taking out quantities of materials and of preparing plans, reports, and estimates (both of materials and labour), and all classes of work connected with alterations and additions to buildings, fittings, and furnishing.
Applicants must furnish a Sixth Standard certificate of education.
The appointment will be subject to the provisions of the Public Service Act, 1912.
The position will be graded in the General Division. Salary £260 per annum, rising to £300.

Applications must be made on forms obtainable from the Permanent Head of the Land and Income Tax Department, or from the Secretary to the Public Service Commissioner.

Applicants must have a thorough knowledge of the Land and Income Assessment Act and its application, particularly in regard to assessments relating to graduated land-tax, and should be able to take charge and direct the work of subordinate officers.
The position will be graded in the Clerical Division, Class V.

Applications must be addressed to the Secretary to the Public Service Commissioner, Wellington, and must embrace a statement of education and experience, particulars of age, &c.

Applicants must possess—
(a.) A sound knowledge of field-cropping operations in New Zealand ;
(b.) A good knowledge of the control of rabbits and noxious weeds in New Zealand ;
(c.) Practical experience of rabbit-suppression ;
(d.) Some experience of office work and correspondence ; and
(e.) Ability to ride across country.
The appointment will be subject to the provisions of the Public Service Act, 1912.
The position will be graded in the General Division. Salary, £180 per annum to commence.

Notice to make Returns of Income under the Land and Income Assessment Act, 1908, and Amendment Acts, 1912, 1913.
Land and Income Tax Department,
Wellington, 12th May, 1915.
NOTICE is hereby given that, in pursuance of the above Acts and the regulations made thereunder, every person and company having derived income within the meaning of the said Act during the year ending 31st March, 1915, from any source or by any means which is made the subject of taxation under the said Act, is hereby required to make and furnish to me, in the prescribed form, returns of such income on or before the 2nd day of June, 1915.
And, further, notice is hereby given that such returns shall in all cases be delivered at or forwarded to the office of the Commissioner of Taxes, in the Government Buildings at Wellington.

Notice by the Public Trustee under the Public Trust Office Act, 1908 (Part II), and its Amendments.
To the owner of the following land, that is to say: All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Auckland, containing by admeasurement 50 acres, more or less, being Allotment 152, Parish of Waimana, County of Opotiki. Bounded towards the north by a road 100 links wide, 1014 links; towards the east by Allotment 153, 3990 links; towards the south-west by Allotment 145, 1255 links; and towards the north-west by Allotment 151, 3315 links.
The above-described land was Crown-granted to CHARLES HILL, sometime private in the 1st Waikato Regiment, who cannot now be traced.
WHEREAS the Public Trustee has instituted inquiries, and has been unable to find the whereabouts of the owner of the above-described land or of any agent of such owner in New Zealand:
Now, the Public Trustee hereby calls upon such owner, within six months of the date of the publication of this notice in this Gazette, to establish to the satisfaction of the Public Trustee his title to the said land; and if he fails or neglects so to do, the Public Trustee will exercise the powers and authorities granted to him in and by the Public Trust Office Act, 1908 (Part II), and its amendments.
