Resuming Land for Scenic Purposes in Block XIII, Tauakira Survey District, Wellington Land District.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by section one hundred and forty-four of the Land Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is, inter alia, enacted that the Governor in Council may by Proclamation resume possession of any land leased under Part III of the said Act, or under any corresponding Part of the Land Act, 1892, which in his opinion is required for any public purpose:

And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto forms part of land which is held under occupation-with-right-of-purchase license from His Majesty the King under Part III of the Land Act, 1892, dated the thirtieth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and six:

And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required for a public purpose—that is to say, for scenic purposes:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, do hereby proclaim and declare that I hereby resume possession of the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto for the public purpose hereinbefore mentioned, the same being part of the land held under occupation-with-right-of-purchase license as aforesaid.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 98 acres 1 rood 10 perches, more or less, being part of Section No. 2, Block XIII, Tauakira Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east generally by Ahuahu Valley Road; towards the south-east and south-west generally by Section No. 3, on lines bearing 197° 56′, 564·6 links, 208° 58′, 468·2 links, 202° 56′, 458 links, 227° 14′, 241·5 links, 230° 6′, 289·5 links, 225° 26′, 277·6 links, 269° 9′, 300·8 links, 280° 54′, 222·8 links, 300° 18′, 213 links, 307° 10′, 339·8 links, 313° 52′, 354·8 links, 308° 6′, 207·8 links, 318° 20′, 86·4 links, 303° 46′, 485·8 links, 279° 50′, 374·6 links, 308° 39′, 370·6 links, and 289° 54′, 181·1 links; towards the north-west generally by other part of Section No. 2, on lines bearing 11° 56′ 30″, 116·9 links, 2° 48′, 281·7 links, 32° 4′, 706·8 links, 31° 24′, 301·4 links, 37° 29′, 772 links, 339° 41′, 544·5 links, 356° 44′, 257·8 links, 25° 19′, 621·7 links, and by Ahuahu Valley Road, 2·1 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on a plan marked L. and S. 682/26, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-sixth day of April, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and fifteen.

ERRATUM.—In the Proclamation, dated 20th February, 1915, taking additional land between Manurewa and Takanini for the purposes of the Kaipara-Waikato Railway (Manurewa Deviation), and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 33, of 4th March, 1915, page 727, in third item of the Schedule, for “0 a. 2 r. 21·06 p., Lots 10 and 9, Plan 4436, Clendon’s Grant, blue,” read “0 a. 0 r. 37·99 p., Lot 10 of Allotment 8, Glendon’s Grant, blue,” and “0 a. 1 r. 23·07 p., Lot 9 of Allotment 8, Clendon’s Grant, blue.”
