Notification of Vacancy in the House of Representatives for the Bay of Islands Electoral District.
Wellington, 12th May, 1915.
WHEREAS the Court for the trial of an election petition under the provisions of the Legislature Act, 1908, has determined that Vernon Herbert Reed was not duly elected as a member of the House of Representatives for the electoral district of the Bay of Islands at the last general election of members of that House, and that the election for that electoral district was void: And whereas the said Court has on the eighth day of May instant certified such determination in accordance with law: And whereas the vacancy so created has occurred at a time when there is no Speaker of the House of Representatives:
His Excellency the Governor of New Zealand therefore directs it to be notified in the Gazette, and it is hereby notified accordingly, in pursuance of section 100 of the Legislature Act, 1908, that a vacancy exists in the seat of the member of the House of Representatives for the electoral district of the Bay of Islands, and that the cause of such vacancy is the determination and declaration of the said Court as hereinbefore recited.
