350 ft. Watered by stream at north-west corner. Four miles
from Waipara Railway-station—three miles and three-quarters
by good formed road, balance by road shortly to be formed.
Section 14.—All good, flat, agricultural land; except about
25 acres rendered unploughable by the stream, but there is
good feed on this. Altitude, 230 ft. to 260 ft. Well watered
by stream. A mile and a half from Waipara Railway-station
by good formed road.
Section 15.—Generally light stony land, mostly flat; inter-
sected by the Weka Stream and by cliffs. About 300 acres
suitable for cultivation, remainder only pastoral. Altitude,
200 ft. to 450 ft. Watered by the Weka Stream, in which,
however, there is no water below the cross-fence in dry seasons.
A mile and a half from Waipara Railway-station by good
formed road.
Section 16.—All flat or slightly undulating; all ploughable.
The soil is light loam, on sand and gravel. Altitude, 300 ft.
to 400 ft. No water on section; endeavours are being made
to obtain water by boring. A mile and a half from Waipara
Railway-station by road shortly to be formed.
Section 17.—All flat or slightly undulating; nearly all
ploughable. Soil is light loam, on sand and gravel, but is
somewhat stony in places. Altitude, 230 ft. to 250 ft. No
water on section; endeavours are being made to obtain water
by boring. Three-quarters of a mile from Waipara Railway-
station by good formed road.
Section 18.—All good, flat, agricultural land. The soil is a
deep loam, on sand and gravel. Altitude, 220 ft. to 240 ft.
Permanently watered by the Home Stream near the north-
east corner. Three-quarters of a mile from Waipara Railway-
station by good formed road.
Section 19.—All good, flat, agricultural land; except about
20 acres along the stream, on which there is good rough feed.
The soil is a deep loam, on sand and gravel. Altitude, 190 ft.
to 230 ft. Well watered by Home Stream. A mile and a
half from Waipara Railway-station by good formed road.
Section 20.—All good, flat, agricultural land; except about
30 acres along the stream, on which there is good rough feed.
The soil is a deep loam, on sand and gravel. Altitude, 200 ft.
to 250 ft. Well watered by two streams. Two miles from
Waipara Railway-station by good formed road.
Section 21.—All good, flat, agricultural land; except about
25 acres taken up by the stream and gullies, but these carry
good feed. The soil is a deep loam, on sand and gravel.
Altitude, 180 ft. to 230 ft. Well watered by the Omihi
Stream. A mile and a half from Waipara Railway-station by
good formed road, when a crossing is made over the railway-
line.
Section 22.—Mostly good agricultural and dairying land.
About 150 acres rich flats, remainder taken up by streams and
terraces, which, however, carry excellent feed. The soil is a
deep loam, on sand and gravel. Altitude, 180 ft. to 230 ft.
Well watered by Omihi Stream. A mile and a half from
Waipara Railway-station by good formed road.
Section 23.—All good, flat, agricultural land; except 10 acres
taken up by stream and terraces, which, however, carry good
feed. The soil is a deep loam, on sand and gravel. Altitude,
180 ft. to 200 ft. Well watered by Omihi Stream. A quarter
of a mile from Waipara Railway-station by road shortly to be
formed.
Section 24.—Mostly rolling downs, suitable for sheep, cattle,
or dairying, and a large portion could be ploughed for rape or
turnips. The soil on the hills is rich loam on limestone, on
the flats it is light and stony. Altitude, 180 ft. to 500 ft.
Well watered by the Omihi and Homestead Streams. A mile
and a quarter from Waipara Railway-station by good formed
road. An unrestricted right of drainage from the freezing-
works is reserved through this section, from the freezing-works
site to the Omihi River.
Section 25.—All good, flat, agricultural land; except 10 acres
taken up by stream and terraces, which, however, carry good
feed. The soil is a deep loam, on sand and gravel. Altitude,
180 ft. to 230 ft. Well watered by Omihi Stream and springs.
A quarter of a mile from Waipara Railway-station by road
shortly to be formed.
Section 26.—All but 1 acre good, flat, agricultural land. The
soil is a deep loam, on sand and gravel. Altitude, 200 ft. to
240 ft. Well watered by the Omihi Stream on the eastern
boundary. Two miles and a half from Waipara Railway-
station by good formed road. This section is considered
suitable for an apiary.
Section 27.—Good agricultural limestone downs, nearly all
ploughable. Altitude, 300 ft. to 370 ft. Well watered by
running creek. Three miles from Waipara Railway-station
by good formed road. This section is considered suitable for
an apiary.

SECTION 3A: Area, 314 acres 3 roods; capital value, £2,320;
half-yearly rent, £51 10s. 6d.
Situated about a mile and a half from Waitahuna Railway-
station. Access by well-formed road. Undulating land, with
some steep faces. About 200 acres ploughable, remainder
good grazing-land; well watered. Altitude, 500 ft. to 800 ft.
above sea-level.
The improvements (included in the capital value) consist of
boundary and internal fencing, valued at £156 13s. 9d.

Section 897, Block XXVI, Hokonui Survey District: Area,
36 acres; upset price, £90.
Section 939, Block XXVI, Hokonui Survey District: Area,
20 acres 2 roods 21 perches; upset price, £65.
Section 1, Block IV, Town of Dipton: Area, 14 acres
2 roods 28 perches; upset price, £75.
Sections 897 and 939, Block XXVI, Hokonui, were origin-
ally covered with bush, which has been mostly cleared.
Situated about six miles from Balfour.
Section 1, Block IV, Town of East Dipton, is open low-
lying ground subject to flood; half the section is fair quality
land, the remainder being stony and light.
