A bursary shall become vacant by failure on the part of the holder to satisfy such conditions as the Professorial Board and the Director of Education may deem necessary. Generally, such conditions shall include the passing of the college examination in the subject or subjects approved for him as described in clause 2 hereof, or the passing of a section of a university degree examination in arts, science, or agriculture, or the attainment of success in connection with the Teachers' Class B or Class A Examination.

The term of an Educational Bursary shall in general be three years, if the holder so long fulfils the prescribed conditions; but under special circumstances, on the recommendation of the Senior Inspector, the bursary may be extended for a further term: Provided that the whole period of the bursary so extended shall not exceed five years.

The Educational Bursary must be held continuously, except in case of illness or special circumstances approved by the Minister.

On the receipt of an unfavourable report on the holder of an Educational Bursary from the Professorial Board or from the Council of the university college attended, the tenure of the bursary shall be forthwith determined, and the holder shall, if the Minister so directs, be required to refund the fees paid during the current year on his behalf.

All university bursaries granted under clause 1 (c), 1 (d), or 1 (e) of the conditions hitherto in force shall be regarded for the balance of their period of tenure as Educational Bursaries issued under these regulations.

Approving the Canterbury Patriotic Fund under the War Contributions Validation Act, 1914 (No. 2).
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
WHEREAS by section two of the War Contributions Validation Act, 1914 (No. 2), (hereinafter referred to as "the said Act"), it is enacted as follows:
Contributions, whether in money or kind, may be made by any local authority or body of persons, whether corporate or unincorporate, other than private trustees under a settlement or will:
(a.) For the relief of distress occasioned by the war in which His Majesty is at present engaged, whether such distress exists in New Zealand or elsewhere in the British Dominions, or in any country allied to His Majesty;
(b.) For any patriotic objects approved for the purposes of this Act by the Governor:
Provided that every such contribution is paid eitherβ
(i.) Into a public fund, established by the Government, or by any local authority, for the purposes of such relief of distress, or patriotic objects; or
(ii.) Into a fund established by persons other than the Government or a local authority, where such fund and the conditions of control and expenditure thereof are approved for the purposes of this Act by the Governor:
And whereas certain persons in the Provincial District of Canterbury have formed themselves into a body for the following purposes, namely:
(a.) To dispel any misgivings that members of the New Zealand Expeditionary Forces for the war in which His Majesty the King is at present engaged, domiciled in the North Canterbury District (meaning thereby all that part of the Provincial District of Canterbury lying to the north of the River Rakaia), may have in leaving their dependents unprovided for should sickness, partial or total disablement, or death overtake them as a result of service in such forces;
(b.) To assist any member of such forces domiciled in the said district who may return to the Dominion unfit for work, until he is restored to health;
(c.) To relieve distress occasioned by the war in which His Majesty the King is at present engaged, whether or not distress exists in New Zealand or elsewhere in the British Dominions, or in any country allied to His Majesty, but not that occasioned by or arising from unemployment:
And whereas the said body of persons has established a fund known as the Canterbury Patriotic Fund, for the promotion of the objects hereinbefore expressed, and has submitted the said fund and the conditions of control and
expenditure thereof for approval, as required by the herein-before-quoted provisions of the said Act:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby approve for the purposes of the said Actβ
(1.) The Canterbury Patriotic Fund hereinbefore referred to, established by the said body of persons; and
(2.) The conditions of control and expenditure of the said fund, as set out in the rules adopted by the said body of persons.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this sixteenth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen.

Declaring certain Sections in North Molyneaux Survey District to be a Sanctuary for Imported and Native Game.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
PURSUANT to the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that the area described in the Schedule hereto shall be a sanctuary for the purposes of the said Animals Protection Act, and that no imported or native game shall be taken or killed within the said area.
SCHEDULE.
All that area in the Otago Land District, the properties of Mr. J. Crawford Anderson, of Stirling, and Mr. J. Wilcocks, comprising Sections Nos. 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10, Block XIII, and part of Section No. 2, Block XIV, North Molyneaux Survey District.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this seventeenth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen.
