NOTICE is hereby given that the parcel of land
hereinafter described will be brought under the
provisions of the Land Transfer Act, 1908, and its amend-
ment, unless caveat be lodged forbidding the same within
one month from the publication hereof.

APPLICATION having been made to me for the issue of
a provisional certificate of title in favour of WILLIAM
EVERETT, late of Tuatapere, Contractor (now deceased), for
Allotments 17, 18, 19, and 25, Block XXX, plan 98B, District
of Hokonui, being the balance of land contained in certificate
of title, Vol. 57, folio 205, and evidence having been lodged
of the loss of the said certificate of title, I hereby give notice
that I shall issue a provisional certificate of title as requested,
unless caveat be lodged forbidding the same within fourteen
days from the date of publication of this notice in the Gazette.

FEATHERSTON COUNTY COUNCIL.

SPECIAL ORDER.

RESOLVED at a meeting of the Featherston County
Council held at the office of the said Council, Martin-
borough, on the 15th day of January, 1915, that the resolution
passed by the said Council at a special meeting held on the
25th day of November, 1914, of which the following is a
copy :—

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Public Works Act, 1908, and the Public
Works Amendment Act, 1913, and all other powers it there-
unto enabling, the Featherston County Council doth hereby
resolve to raise a loan of £1,969 for the purpose of con-
structing a bridge over the Waichine River, with the ap-
proaches thereto, between Greytown and Carterton, as the
said bridge and approaches are more particularly delineated
on the plan marked P.W.D. No. 34676, deposited in the
office of the Minister of Public Works in Wellington, such
sum of £1,969 being the amount necessary to enable the
Featherston County Council to comply with the Governor’s
Warrant dated the 24th day of August, 1914, published in
the New Zealand Gazette for 1914 at page 3300, without
taking any poll of the ratepayers thereon.

And in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it
in that behalf by the said Acts and the Local Bodies’ Loans
Act, 1913, the Featherston County Council hereby resolves
as follows : That, for the purpose of providing the interest,
sinking fund, and other charges on the said loan of £1,969,
authorized to be raised by the said Council, under the above-
mentioned Acts as aforesaid, for the purpose of the erection
of the said bridge as is hereinbefore set out, the said Council
hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/100th of a
penny in the pound sterling on the rateable value of all
rateable properties within the Featherston County, com-
prising the whole of the said land within the boundaries of
the said county ; and that such special rate shall be an
annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan,
and be payable half-yearly on the first day of March and
the first day of September in each and every year during
the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or
until the loan is fully paid off—

be and the same is hereby confirmed by way of special order.

FRANKLIN COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE ON A LOAN OF £70, 10 PER
CENT. ADDITIONAL, FOR COMPLETING THE METALLING OF
THE QUARRY—CAMPBELL—BARNABY ROAD, WAIUKU RIDING,
FRANKLIN COUNTY, 14TH MARCH, 1915.

THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in
it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913,
the Franklin County Council hereby resolve as follows :—

That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in respect
of principal and interest and also other charges on a loan of
£70, to complete the metalling of the Quarry—Campbell—
Barnaby Road, being ten per centum upon an original loan
of £725, authorized to be raised by the late Waiuku Road
Board, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amend-
ments thereto, for metalling the said Quarry—Campbell—
Barnaby Road, the said Franklin County Council hereby makes
and levies a special rate of 1/13th penny in the pound upon the
rateable value of all the rateable properties within the Quarry—
Campbell—Barnaby Road Special-rating Area, being a portion
of the Waiuku Riding of the aforesaid county, and comprised
within the following boundaries—commencing at a point on
the road at the south-east corner of parts Sections 1, 2, 44,
and following the south-east boundary of the said part section
to its intersection with Section 44 ; thence westerly following
the north-west boundaries of Sections 44, 45, and 3 ; thence
southerly along the western boundary of Section 3 to a road,
crossing the road at this point into part Section 4, and follow-
ing the western boundaries of parts Section 4 (occupied by
S. Bright and S. Rossiter) to the north-east corner of part 9
of Section 4 ; thence westerly along the northern boundary
of part 9 of Section 4 to the road ; thence south-easterly along
the said road to the south corner of Section 9 ; thence generally
in an easterly direction along the southern boundaries of
Sections 9, 41, 42, 43 ; thence northerly along the easterly
boundary of Section 43 to a road ; thence along the said road
in a west-by-north direction to the point of commencement
at the south-east corner of part 7 of Sections 1, 2, 44, being
part of the Waiuku East Parish, and Block III, Maioro Survey
District. And that such special rate shall be an annual-
recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be pay-
able half-yearly on the first day of August and the first day
of February in each and every year during the currency of
such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully
paid off, the rate of interest on the said loan to be 4½ per cent.
per annum.

I hereby certify that the above resolution was duly made
and passed at a duly constituted meeting of the Franklin
County Council held the fourteenth day of January, 1915.

Bachelor of Surgery, Edinburgh University, now residing
in Wanganui, hereby give notice that I intend applying on
the 12th May next to have my name placed on the Medical
Register of the Dominion of New Zealand ; and that I have
deposited the evidence of my qualification in the office of the
Registrar of Births and Deaths at Wellington.
