A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section eleven of the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby, with the consents of the owner and mortgagee of the land described in the First Schedule hereto, and of the Wairewa County Council, being the local authority in whose district the said land is situated, proclaim as a road the land in Halswell Survey District described in the First Schedule hereto; and also do hereby, with the like consents as aforesaid, proclaim as closed the road described in the Second Schedule hereto, which is not required by reason of the road described in the First Schedule hereto.

LAND PROCLAIMED AS A ROAD.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land proclaimed as a road: 1 rood 17·8 perches.

SECOND SCHEDULE.

ROAD CLOSED.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of road closed: 1 rood 21 perches.

Adjoining or passing through R.S. 10165.

Coloured on plan: Green.

All situated in Block XI, Halswell Survey District (Canterbury R.D.).

All in the Canterbury Land District; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 37438, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and thereon coloured as above mentioned.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this seventh day of April, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and fifteen.

Directing Sale of Railway Land under the Public Works Act, 1908.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this first day of April, 1915.

Present:

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE W. F. MASSEY, P.C., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by the thirtieth section of the Public Works Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is enacted that if it is found that any land held, taken, purchased, or acquired at any time under this or any other Act or Provincial Ordinance, or otherwise howsoever, for any public work is not required for such public work, the Governor may, by Order in Council publicly notified and gazetted, cause the same to be sold under the conditions set forth in the said Act:

And whereas the parcel of land described in the Schedule hereto has been, inter alia, taken for the purposes of the Wellington–Foxton Railway by a conveyance dated the seventeenth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and ten, and duly registered in the office of the District Land Registrar at Wellington as No. 103765:

And whereas the said parcel of land is not now required for the purposes of the said Wellington–Foxton Railway, and the Minister of Railways has recommended that this Order in Council should be issued directing such parcel of land to be sold:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and direct the sale of the land described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land: 2 acres 0 roods 27 perches.

Portion of railway reserve (S.O. 1260).

Situated in Block II, Paikakariki Survey District, Hutt County.

In the Wellington Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked W.R. 22418, deposited in the office of the Minister of Railways at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and thereon edged pink.

Prohibiting Net Fishing in Portion of Tokomairiro River.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this thirty-first day of March, 1915.

Present:

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE W. F. MASSEY, P.C., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by the fifth section of the Fisheries Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is enacted that the Governor in Council may from time to time make regulations, which shall have force and effect throughout either New Zealand or only in such waters or places specified therein, for, amongst other things, imposing conditions and restrictions on the taking of fish:

And whereas it is desirable to prohibit the taking of fish by means of nets in a portion of the Tokomairiro River as hereinafter defined:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the power and authority conferred by the said Act, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby make the following regulations for the purposes of the said Act, and doth order that the same shall come into force from and after the date hereof.

REGULATIONS.

  1. No person shall haul or use a net for the purpose of taking fish in that portion of the Tokomairiro River on the upper side of a straight line drawn from a white post fixed at high-water mark at a point known as the Iron Standard to a point marked by a white post on the opposite side of the river, as shown on plan marked M.D. 4410, and deposited in the office of the Marine Department at Wellington.

  2. Any person committing a breach of clause 1 of these regulations is liable to a penalty of not less than £1 and not exceeding £20.

Approving the Marlborough Poor of Britain and Belgium Relief Fund, under the War Contributions Validation Act, 1914 (No. 2).

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

WHEREAS by section two of the War Contributions Validation Act, 1914 (No. 2) (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), it is enacted as follows:—

Contributions, whether in money or kind, may be made by any local authority or body of persons, whether corporate or unincorporate, other than private trustees under a settlement or will,—

(a.) For the relief of distress occasioned by the war in which His Majesty is at present engaged, whether such distress exists in New Zealand or elsewhere in the British Dominions, or in any country allied to His Majesty;

(b.) For any patriotic objects approved for the purposes of this Act by the Governor:
