WAikATO RIVER BOARD.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the River Boards Act, 1908, and the
Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, the Waikato River Board
hereby resolves as follows:-
That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking
fund, and other charges on a loan of £6,000, authorized to be
raised by the Waikato River Board, under the above-
mentioned Acts, for the purpose of deepening the Waikato
River, and for the construction of works necessary to prevent
or lessen damage which may be occasioned by the overflow
or the breaking of the banks of the said river, the said Waikato
River Board hereby makes and levies a special rate (on a
graduated scale according to a classification made by the
Board) of all the rateable property of and in the Waikato
River District, comprising the whole of the Waikato River
District, the boundaries whereof are defined in the New
Zealand Gazette of the 24th day of June, 1913, at page 1977,
namely:-
A special rate of three-fourths of one penny in the pound
upon the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of
all such rateable property as is comprised in Class A in the
Classification List of such property, signed by the Chairman
of the Board at a meeting of the Board held on the 17th day
of January, 1914; a special rate of three-eighths of one penny
in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis aforesaid)
of all such rateable property as is comprised in Class B in the
Classification List aforesaid; and a special rate of three-
sixteenths of one penny in the pound upon the rateable value
(on the basis aforesaid) of all such rateable property as is
comprised in Class C in the Classification List aforesaid.
And that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate
during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly
on the first day of May and the first day of November in each
and every year during the currency of such loan, being a
period of twenty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
This is a true copy of a resolution passed by the Waikato
River Board at a meeting held at Mercer on the 24th day of
December, 1914.
