Boundaries of the City of Auckland altered.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this twenty-six day of February, 1915.
Present:
THE RIGHT HONOURABLE W. F. MASSEY, P.C., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS a petition has been presented to the Governor under section fourteen of the Municipal Corporations Amendment Act, 1913, praying the Governor to alter the boundaries of the City of Auckland by including therein the area described in the Schedule hereto, comprising the Remuera Road District:
And whereas a notice, showing the proposed alteration in boundaries of the said city, has been gazetted and publicly notified:
And whereas objections in writing against such alteration were lodged:
And whereas after inquiry and report by a Commission appointed under the said section a poll was taken under the provisions of the Municipal Corporations Amendment Act, 1914, on the seventeenth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen, on the proposal to include the said area in the City of Auckland, and the result of that poll was in favour of the said proposal:
And whereas it is expedient to make the desired alteration:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, and its amendments, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare that as on and from the first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen, the area described in the Schedule hereto, being the area now comprised within the Remuera Road District, shall be included in the City of Auckland.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Auckland Land District bounded towards the north generally by the City of Auckland from the northern boundary of the Borough of Newmarket to Hobson Bay; thence by Hobson Bay and the Orakei and Purewa Creeks to the western boundary of Section No. 38A, Parish of Waitemata; thence towards the east by that section and the production of its western boundary to the southern side of the St. Johnβs College and Tamaki Road; thence by the southern side of that road to the north-eastern corner of Allotment No. 34 of Section No. 12, Suburbs of Auckland; thence by the eastern boundary of that allotment to the northern boundary of Ellerslie Town District; thence towards the south-east by the said Ellerslie Town District to the Great South Road; thence towards the south-west by the Great South Road to its junction with Epsom Road, across Epsom Road, and towards the west generally by the western side of that road to the Borough of Newmarket, and by that borough to the boundary of the City of Auckland, the place of commencement.
