Applications invited for the Position of Milk-tester, Department of Agriculture, Industries, and Commerce, Hamilton.

  1. APPLICATIONS will be received by the undersigned up till noon on the 19th January, 1915, for the position of Milk-tester, Department of Agriculture, Industries, and Commerce, Hamilton.

  2. Applications must be addressed to the Acting Secretary to the Public Service Commissioner, Wellington, and must embrace a statement of education and experience, particulars of age, &c.

  3. Applicants must—
    (a.) Be thoroughly acquainted with and have had experience in the testing of milk by the Babcock method.
    (b.) Write a good hand, be quick and accurate at figures, and understand the computing of milk and butter-fat returns.
    (c.) Be able to milk and handle cows efficiently.

The appointment will be subject to the provisions of the Public Service Act, 1912.

The position will be graded in the General Division. Salary, £200 per annum.

Applications invited for the Position of Vine and Wine Instructor, Department of Agriculture, &c., Wellington.

Office of Public Service Commissioner,
Wellington, 23rd December, 1914.

  1. APPLICATIONS will be received by the undersigned up till noon on the 30th January, 1915, for the position of Vine and Wine Instructor, Wellington.

  2. Applications must be addressed to the Secretary to the Public Service Commissioner, Wellington, and must embrace a statement of education and experience, particulars of age, &c.

  3. The qualifications required are as follows:—
    (a.) A good knowledge of the culture of vines both in the vineyard and the glasshouse.
    (b.) A thorough knowledge of the diseases and pests of the vine, and their method of treatment.
    (c.) A good experience in the manufacture and blending of wines, and regarding all appliances connected therewith.

The appointment will be subject to the provisions of the Public Service Act, 1912.

The position will be graded in the General Division. Salary, £260; maximum, £300 per annum.
