Consenting to stopping a Road in Blocks XVI, Hororata, and
XIII, Hawkins Survey Districts, Selwyn County.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this seventh day
of January, 1915.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

WHEREAS by section one hundred and thirty-three (a)
of the Public Works Act, 1908, it is enacted that a
local authority shall not declare any county road or district
road to be stopped until the consent thereto of the Governor
by Order in Council gazetted is obtained:

And whereas the Selwyn County Council has applied
for such consent in respect of the road described in the
Schedule hereto:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the above-
in-part-recited Act, and of all other powers in anywise
enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor
of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said
Dominion, doth hereby consent to the Selwyn County
Council stopping the road described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of road permitted to be
stopped: 2 acres 0 roods 32 perches.

Adjoining or passing through Sections 13997 and 33567
(Canterbury R.D.).

Situated in Block XVI, Hororata Survey District, and
Block XIII, Hawkins Survey District.

In the Canterbury Land District; as the same is more par-
ticularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 36940, de-
posited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at
Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and thereon
coloured green.

Hillgrove Estate Roads, in the Waitaki County, exempted from
the Provisions of Section 117 of the Public Works Act, 1908.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this seventh day
of January, 1915.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

WHEREAS by subsection one of section one hundred
and seventeen of the Public Works Act, 1908,
it is, inter alia, provided that the said section shall not
apply in any case where the local authority having control of
any road or street by resolution declares that the provisions
thereof shall not apply to any specified road or street, or
any specified part thereof, and such resolution is approved
by the Governor in Council:

And whereas by subsection two of section one hundred
and seventeen of the Public Works Act, 1908, it is provided
that such approval may be either absolute or subject to
such conditions with respect to the building-line as the
Governor, by Order in Council, thinks fit to impose:

And whereas the Waitaki County Council, being the
local authority having control of the roads described in
the Schedule hereto, did, by resolutions, declare that the
provisions of the said section one hundred and seventeen
should not apply to the said roads:

And whereas it is deemed expedient that such resolutions
should be approved:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the
Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of
the powers conferred by the above-in-part-recited Act, and
acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the
said resolutions in so far as they affect the said roads de-
scribed in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that portion of road in the Otago Land District, Waitaki
County, Hillgrove Estate, forming the western boundary of
Section 18, Block I, Moeraki Survey District, being a distance
of 15½ chains, more or less.

Also all that portion of road in the said land district, county
and estate, forming the western boundary of Section 1 of 30,
Block I, Moeraki Survey District, being a distance of 8 chains,
more or less.

Also all that portion of road in the said land district, county,
and estate, commencing at the north-western corner of
Section 9, Block II, Moeraki Survey District, and proceeding
thence in an easterly direction generally adjoining or passing
through Sections 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 1 of 15, 2 of 15, 16,
and part 17, Block II, Moeraki Survey District, and terminat-
ing at a point on the sea-coast about 4 chains from the north-
western corner of the said Section 17, being a distance of
1 mile 54 chains, more or less.

Also all that portion of road in the said land district, county,
and estate, forming the southern boundaries of Sections 24,
23, 22, 21, 1 of 20, and 2 of 20, Block II, Moeraki Survey
District, being a distance of 77½ chains, more or less.

As the said portions of roads are more particularly de-
lineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 36708, deposited in the
office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the
Wellington Provincial District, and thereon coloured blue.

Consenting to a Mortgage of Native Land.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this twelfth
day of January, 1915.

Present:

The Right Honourable W. F. Massey, P.C., presiding
in Council.

WHEREAS by section two hundred and thirty of the
Native Land Act, 1909, it is provided that no
instrument of alienation of Native land by way of mort-
gage or charge, other than a mortgage or charge in favour
of a State Loan Department, shall be confirmed by a
Board or the Court without the precedent consent of the
Governor in Council:

And whereas application has been made for the consent
of the Governor in Council to a mortgage of the block or
parcel of land mentioned in the Schedule hereto: And
whereas it is expedient that the precedent consent of the
Governor in Council should issue:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Do-
minion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth
hereby consent to the confirmation of an alienation by way
of mortgage of the block or parcel of land set out in the
Schedule hereto. And it is hereby declared that this Order
in Council is made under the provisions in that behalf of the
Native Land Act, 1909, and shall operate accordingly as a
consent of the Governor in Council to the proceedings hereby
authorized.

Otamatea G Block: Approximate area, 42 acres; Auckland
Provincial District.
