Revoking Part of a Proclamation taking Land for a Further
Portion of the Stratford-Kawakawa Railway (Whangamo-
mona Section and Portion of Tahoma Section), and or
Road-diversions in connection therewith.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the Public Works Amendment Act, 1909,
it is enacted that if at any time after the issue or
making of any Proclamation taking land under the Public
Works Act, 1908, and before the payment or award of any
compensation in respect of the taking thereof, it is found
that the land or any part thereof is not required for the
purpose for which it was taken, or that any error in form
or substance exists in or in relation to that Proclamation,
or the making or gazetting thereof, the Governor may, by a
subsequent Proclamation gazetted, revoke the former Pro-
clamation, either wholly or so far as he thinks necessary:

And whereas it is found that portion of the area of one
acre two roods twenty-five perches, being part of the land
taken for a further portion of the Stratford-Kawakawa Rail-
way (Whangamomona Section and portion of Tahoma Sec-
tion), and for road-diversions in connection therewith, by a
Proclamation made under the Public Works Act, 1908, dated
the fifteenth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and
fourteen (hereinafter termed “the said Proclamation”), and
published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 50, pages 2096 and
2097, of the twenty-first day of the same month, is not now
required for the purpose for which it was taken:

And whereas compensation in respect of the taking of the
said land has not been paid or awarded:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of
Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand,
in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in me by the
Public Works Amendment Act, 1909, and of all other powers
enabling me in that behalf, do hereby revoke so much of the
said Proclamation as affects that portion of the aforesaid
area of one acre two roods twenty-five perches which is
described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land not required: 2 roods
35·2 perches.

Part of railway land, formerly portion of Section 22, Block
XIII, Pouatu Survey District.

In the Taranaki Land District; as the same is more
particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 39042,
deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at
Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and thereon
coloured purple hatched black.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right

Stopping a Government Road in Block XIII, Matakohe
Survey District.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by paragraph (c) of section one hundred
and thirty-three of the Public Works Act, 1908, it is
enacted that the Governor may, by Proclamation publicly
notified, stop or alter the course of any Government road or
any part thereof:

And whereas the Government road described in the
Schedule hereto is no longer required for the purpose of a
road:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of
Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand,
in pursuance and exercise of the above-in-part-recited Act,
and of all other powers in anywise enabling me in this
behalf, do hereby proclaim as stopped the road described
in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of road hereby stopped:
1 acre 2 roods 37·4 perches.

Adjoining or passing through Section 76 E.R., Parish of
Matakohe (S.O. 18524).

Situated in Block XIII, Matakohe Survey District.

In the Auckland Land District; as the same is more
particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 38955,
deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at
Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and
thereon coloured green.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile,
Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the
Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian
Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in

widening Cuba and Vivian Streets, subject to Leases of
Portion thereof.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land described in the First Schedule
hereto is required to be taken, under the Public
Works Act, 1908, the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, and
their amendments, the Wellington City Empowering Act,
1897, the Wellington City Empowering Act, 1899, and the
Wellington City Empowering Act, 1908, subject to the leases
of portion thereof described in the Second Schedule hereto,
for the purpose of widening Cuba and Vivian Streets in the
City of Wellington:

And whereas an agreement has been entered into between
the Wellington City Council and the owners of the land
described in the First Schedule hereto to take such land,
subject to the leases hereinbefore referred to, for the purpose
of widening the said streets:

And whereas the Wellington City Council has laid before
the Governor a memorial, together with a map (in duplicate),
as required by the Public Works Act, 1908:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of
Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand,
in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1908, the Municipal
Corporations Act, 1908, and of every other power and autho-
rity in anywise enabling me in this behalf, and being satisfied
of the sufficiency of the agreement hereinbefore referred to,
do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in
the First Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purpose of
widening the said streets, subject as to part thereof to the
residue to come and unexpired of the term of years created
by the deed of lease described in the Second Schedule hereto,
