Districts constituted under the Births and Deaths Registration Act, 1908.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in the Governor by the Births and Deaths Registration Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby abolish the existing registration district known as the Ahaura District, and do proclaim and declare that the territory heretofore comprised within the said district is hereby divided anew into two registration districts, the names and boundaries whereof shall be as follows:—

BLACKBALL DISTRICT.

All that area in the Westland Land District bounded by a line commencing at a point on the summit of the Paparoa Range near the source of Moonlight Creek; thence to and by that creek to the Grey River, across that river, and along the leading spur and the summit of the range between the Ahaura River and Nelson Creek to Lake Hill; thence along a right line to Bell Hill and that line produced to its intersection by a right line running from Harper’s Pass to where the Arnold River issues from Lake Brunner, and by that line to and by the right bank of the Arnold River to its confluence with the Grey River, across the Grey River to and along Langdon’s Creek to its source near Sewell Peak; and thence along the summit of the range over Mount Davy to a point near the source of Moonlight Creek, the place of commencement.

AHAURA DISTRICT.

All that area in the Nelson and Westland Land Districts bounded by a line commencing at a point on the Paparoa Range near the source of the Totara River; thence by a right line to the saddle between the Mawhera-iti and Inangahua Rivers; thence along the watershed between the Grey and Inangahua Rivers to the summit of the main range; thence along the summit of the main range to Harper’s Pass; thence along a right line running in the direction of the place where the Arnold River issues from Lake Brunner to a point in line with Bell Hill and Lake Hill; thence along a right line to Lake Hill and along the summit of the range between the Ahaura River and Nelson Creek to the Grey River opposite the mouth of the Moonlight Creek, across the Grey River, and along Moonlight Creek to its source; thence to and along the summit of Paparoa Range to a point near the source of the Totara River, the place of commencement.

And I hereby declare that this Proclamation shall come into operation on the eighth day of September, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and fifteen.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this fourteenth day of August, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and fifteen.

GOD SAVE THE KING!

Proclaiming Native Land to be Crown Land under Section 368 of the Native Land Act, 1909.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by section three hundred and sixty-eight of the Native Land Act, 1909 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), it is provided, inter alia, that the Crown may purchase any Native land in pursuance of a resolution of the assembled owners passed and confirmed in accordance with Part XVIII of the said Act, and on the resolution being adopted by the Native Land Purchase Board it shall become a contract of purchase as between the Crown and all persons who are the owners of the land; and the Governor may by Proclamation, at any time after the contract of purchase has been so made, declare that the land so purchased is vested in His Majesty the King, and it shall vest accordingly, and shall become Crown land:

And whereas a resolution was passed by a meeting of assembled owners, and duly confirmed by the Waikato-Maniapoto District Maori Land Board, that the land set out in the Schedule hereto be sold to the Crown:
