Special Prohibitions and Observations.

| Prohibitions.—Opium, morphia, cocaine, eucaine, and all other substitutes of morphia, arms, salt (except fine table-salt), coffee-plants, and seeds of coffee or other plants of the madder family. Observations.—The principal islands are Bali, Banka, Billiton, Celebes, Dutch Borneo, Dutch New Guinea, Dutch Timor, Java, Madura, Moluccas, Rhio, and Sumatra. The contents of parcels must be described in detail on the Customs declaration form. | Dutch East Indies. |
| Prohibitions.—Bullion exceeding £5 in value, oilskins and similar goods. Observations.—Parcels for places other than Albina, Coronie, Paramaribo, and Nieuw-Nickerie are liable to a charge on delivery. | Dutch Guiana. |

Observations.—Insurance confined to Bahia-de-Caraquez, Guayaquil, and Quito. Uninsured parcels are accepted for all places in Ecuador. | Prohibitions.—Ammunition, saltpetre, hashish, artificial tobacco, seeds and juice or extract of tobacco, cotton-seeds, tombac (except by permission of the Egyptian Government), arms, poisons, coin, bullion exceeding £5 in value, oilskins and similar goods. Sudan: In addition to the foregoing—Jewellery (except watches made of base metal) and all other articles of gold and silver are admitted only for those places which are mentioned below as partaking in the insurance system. Observations.—Wau is admitted to the parcel service during June and July only. The limit of insurance for parcels for the Sudan is £20. Insurance in the Sudan is confined to the following places: Abu Hamed, Atbara, Berber, Bor, Debba, Dongola, Duem, El Damer, El Obeid, Geili, Geteina, Halfa (Wadi Halfa), Kareima, Kawa, Khandak, Khartoum, Khartoum North, Kodok, Korti, Kosti, Malakal, Melut, Merowe, Mongalla, Number Six Sudan, Omdurman, Port Sudan, Rejaf, Renk, Sennar, Shendi, Shereik, Sinkat, Suakin, Taufkia (Sudan), Wad-Medani, Zeidab (see clause 20, p. 2981). Uninsured parcels must not exceed £50 in value, and insured parcels £400. The contents and value of parcels for Egypt must be stated in detail by the senders, either on the relative declaration form, or, preferably, on a note enclosed in the parcel. In the latter case a general description of the contents should appear on the declaration form, which should be marked “Particulars enclosed.” Parcels containing living plants are subject to fumigation; and no responsibility is admitted for any injury to plants resulting therefrom. Groceries and provisions for the Sudan must be packed in strong wooden boxes or barrels. Bacon and other greasy substances must first be enclosed in a hermetically sealed tin or else surrounded with absorbent material. | Egypt. |
