Comprises about 150 acres open pakihi land with a few small creek flats, the remainder carrying rimu, rata, silver and yellow pine of little commercial value. Soil poor clayey nature, resting on gravel subsoil, and wet in places. Altitude, 100 ft. to 275 ft. above sea-level. Well watered. Situated on Chesterfield Track, about a mile and a quarter from Chesterfield Railway-station.

Section 3229, Block X: Area, 293 acres; capital value, £160; half-yearly rent, £3 4s.

Area comprises 80 acres open pakihi land, the remainder carrying rimu, rata, silver and yellow pine, from which the timber of commercial value has been cut out by sawmillers. Soil poor clayey nature, resting on hard gravel subsoil. Altitude, 130 ft. to 200 ft. above sea-level. Well watered. Access by dray-road from Chesterfield Railway-station, a distance of 20 chains.

Section 3230, Block XI: Area, 407 acres; capital value, £230; half-yearly rent, £4 12s.

Comprises 250 acres pakihi country, the remainder carrying bush, good in places, consisting of rimu, rata, miro, silver and yellow pine. Soil of a poor clayey nature, wet in places, resting on hard gravel subsoil. Altitude, 200 ft. to 250 ft. above sea-level. Well watered. Access from Chesterfield Railway-station by good dray-road a mile and a quarter and pack-track 10 chains.

Section 3305, Block X: Area, 312 acres; capital value, £170; half-yearly rent, £3 8s.

Weighted with £7 10s., valuation for fencing.

Comprises bush land carrying rimu, silver-pine, yellow-pine, miro, hinau, rata, and kamahi, from which the timber of commercial value has been cut out by sawmillers. Soil fair to poor, light gravelly nature in creeks and gullies and clayey on terrace flats, on hard cement gravel subsoil. Altitude, 60 ft. to 200 ft. above sea-level. Well watered. Distant a mile and a half from Awatuna Railway-station by old sawmill tramway (not formed as road), or a mile and three-quarters from Chesterfield Railway-station—a mile and a quarter by formed dray-road and half a mile formed pack-track.

Section 3307, Block X: Area, 402 acres; capital value, £370; half-yearly rent, £7 8s.

Weighted with £62 10s., valuation for fencing.

Comprises 200 acres flat scrub land, the remainder carries rimu, silver-pine, yellow-pine, rata, miro, hinau, and kamahi, from which the timber of commercial value has been cut out by sawmillers. Soil of light nature on the flats, somewhat wet on the surface, and cold and sour on the terraces. Altitude, 60 ft. to 160 ft. above sea-level. Well watered. Access from Awatuna Railway-station three-quarters of a mile distant by old tramway (not formed as a road), or from Chesterfield Railway-station—a mile and a quarter by formed dray-road and a mile formed pack-track.

Section 3213, Block XIII: Area, 430 acres; capital value, £220; half-yearly rent, £4 8s.

Area contains 90 acres open land and 160 acres mixed bush consisting of rimu, kamahi, &c., the remainder being high terrace flat covered with heavy rimu. Soil of poor peaty nature, resting on clay and gravel subsoil. Altitude, 700 ft. to 900 ft. above sea-level. Well watered. Distant seven miles from Nelson Creek Post and Telephone Office and eleven miles from Ngahere Railway-station by good metalled dray-road.

Section 3214, Block XIII: Area, 420 acres; capital value, £210; half-yearly rent, £4 4s.

Area comprises open pakihi land, stony and swampy in places, with manuka scrub. Soil of poor peaty nature, resting on clay and gravel subsoil. Altitude, about 700 ft. above sea-level. Well watered. Distant from Nelson Creek Post and Telephone Office by good metalled dray-road for seven miles and rough bridle-track half a mile, and from Ngahere Railway-station eleven miles by metalled road and rough bridle-track half a mile.

Section 3215, Block XIII: Area, 587 acres; capital value, £330; half-yearly rent, £6 12s.

Comprises about 180 acres open pakihi land with patches of manuka, 100 acres burnt bush, the remainder mixed bush, half of which is suitable for sawmilling. Soil of poor peaty nature, resting on clay and gravel subsoil. Altitude, about 700 ft. above sea-level. Well watered. Distant eight miles—good metalled road seven miles and rough bridle-track a mile—from Nelson Creek Post and Telephone Office, and from Ngahere Railway-station by good metalled road eleven miles and rough bridle-track a mile.

Section 3211, Block VII: Area, 392 acres; capital value, £200; half-yearly rent, £4.

Comprises about 260 acres burnt silver-pine bush and bracken fern country, the remainder carrying mixed bush consisting of brown birch, small red and white pine, &c., of no commercial value. Soil poor, of a wet swampy and peaty nature, resting on clay and gravel subsoil. Altitude, about 600 ft. above sea-level. Well watered. Distant four miles from Ngahere Railway-station by metalled dray-road for three miles and a quarter and by unformed road for three-quarters of a mile. Rough access may also be obtained along Kangaroo Creek bed.

Section 3212, Block VIII: Area, 480 acres; capital value, £240; half-yearly rent, £4 16s.

Comprises about 330 acres burnt silver-pine bush and bracken fern country, wet and swampy on surface, with small flats of fair land along Kangaroo Creek, the remainder carrying mixed bush consisting of brown birch and small red and white pine of no commercial value. Soil poor, of mossy nature, resting on clay and gravel subsoil. Altitude, about 600 ft. above sea-level. Well watered. Distant four miles from Ngahere Railway-station—by metalled dray-road for three miles and a half and by tramway for half a mile. Access may also be obtained along Kangaroo Track and Kangaroo Creek bed.

Section 3236, Block XII: Area, 309 acres; capital value, £160; half-yearly rent, £3 4s.

Comprises mixed bush land, wet and swampy in places, carrying brown birch, small red and white pine, kawhaka, &c., from which the timber of any commercial value has been removed. Soil of poor quality, resting on clay and gravel subsoil. Altitude, about 600 ft. above sea-level. Well watered. Distant six miles from Ngarer Railway-station by good metalled dray-road.

Section 3238, Block XII: Area, 400 acres; capital value, £200; half-yearly rent, £4.

Comprises about 200 acres heavy-bush land carrying rimu and white-pine, part of which is suitable for milling purposes, and 200 acres old silver-pine and scrub country, from which the timber of commercial value has been removed. Soil poor quality, resting on clay and gravel subsoil. Altitude, 600 ft. to 900 ft. above sea-level. Well watered. Distant six miles from Ngahere Railway-station by metalled dray-road.

Section 3239, Block XII: Area, 354 acres; capital value, £180; half-yearly rent, £3 12s.

Comprises heavy mixed bush land carrying brown birch, miro, kamahi, &c., with a few pines and totara of no commercial value. Soil on half of section is very fair of a light sandy nature, but poor on balance. Altitude, 390 ft. to 860 ft. above sea-level. Well watered. Distant seventeen miles from Ahaura Township by metalled dray-road.

Section 3240, Block IX: Area, 304 acres; capital value, £230; half-yearly rent, £4 12s.

Comprises about 200 acres flat land, the remainder consisting of broken spurs, the whole being heavily timbered country carrying brown birch, kamahi, &c., of no commercial value. Soil on flat is very fair and of a sandy nature, but on the spurs it is poor. Altitude, 420 ft. to 760 ft. above sea-level. Well watered. Distant eighteen miles from Ahaura Township by metalled dray-road.

Section 3241, Block XIII: Area, 254 acres; capital value, £260; half-yearly rent, £5 4s.

Comprises heavy mixed bush land carrying brown birch, kamahi, miro, &c., of no commercial value. Soil fair and of a light sandy nature, stony in parts, resting on clay and gravel subsoil. Altitude, 430 ft. to 1,200 ft. above sea-level. Well watered. Distant nineteen miles from Ahaura Township by metalled dray-road.

Section 3242, Block XIII: Area, 292 acres; capital value, £300; half-yearly rent, £6.

Comprises 25 acres open land—10 acres flax and nigger-head swamp, the remainder carrying heavy mixed bush consisting of brown birch, miro, kahikatea, &c., of no commercial value. The soil, which is of a light sandy nature and stony in parts, is very fair with the exception of a shallow portion along southern boundary. Altitude, 450 ft. to 1,290 ft. above sea-level. Well watered. Distant twenty miles from Ahaura Township by metalled dray-road.
