Notice of the Making of an Order by a Judge vesting Land in the Public Trustee under the Public Trust Office Act, 1908.
—Part II, Unclaimed Lands.
I HEREBY give notice that by an order of His Honour Mr. Justice Hosking, a Judge of the Supreme Court of New Zealand at Wellington, made on the 21st day of August, 1914, all that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Hawke’s Bay, containing by admeasurement 1 rood 16 perches, more or less, being Allotment 28, deposited plan 48, Town Section 388, Napier, and being all the land comprised in certificate of title, Volume 8, folio 250, was vested in the Public Trustee under and subject to the provisions of the above-mentioned Act.

Notice by the Public Trustee under the Public Trust Office Act, 1908 (Part II), and its Amendments.
To the owner of the following land, that is to say: All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Otago, containing by admeasurement 16·6 perches, more or less, being Allotments Nos. 14 and 15, Block V, deposited plan No. 191, Township of Ascotvale, and being all the land contained in certificate of title, Vol. 139, folio 87. The last registered owner is WILLIAM TELFER, of North-east Valley, Dunedin, Labourer, who cannot now be traced.
WHEREAS the Public Trustee has instituted inquiries and has been unable to find the owner of the above-described land or any agent of such owner in New Zealand: Now, the Public Trustee hereby calls upon such owner, within six months of the date of the publication of this notice in this Gazette, to establish to the satisfaction of the Public Trustee his title to the said land; and if he fails or neglects so to do, the Public Trustee will exercise the powers and authorities granted to him in and by the Public Trust Office Act, 1908 (Part II).

Public Service Stores Tender Board.—Supply and Delivery of Stores.

SEPARATE tenders will be received at the office of the Chairman (Government Printing Office) not later than 5 p.m. on Tuesday, the 22nd September, 1914, for the supply and delivery, C.I.F. and E. main ports, New Zealand, of the undermentioned material:—
3,000 clamps, messenger wire, complete with coach-screw and bolts.
300 poles, ironbark, 20 ft., 8 in. x 8 in. at butt to 6 in. x 6 in. at top.
350 poles, ironbark, 25 ft., 7 in. x 7 in. at butt to 5 in. x 5 in. at top.
550 poles, ironbark, 25 ft., 8 in. x 8 in. at butt to 6 in. x 6 in. at top.
200 poles, ironbark, 30 ft., 9 in. x 9 in. at butt to 7 in. x 7 in. at top.
30 poles, ironbark, 35 ft., 12 in. x 12 in. at butt to 9 in. x 9 in. at top.
Alternative offers will be received for round poles with octagonal base.
Tenders must be addressed to the Chairman, Public Service Stores Tender Board, Wellington. Delivery of the material is to be made as shown in the Conditions of Tender, and the successful tenderer must give the security required by the Conditions for the due performance of the contract. Particulars and conditions of tendering and specifications may be obtained at the office of the Controller of Stores, Post and Telegraph Department, Wellington; the District Storekeeper, Post and Telegraph Department, Christchurch; or the Telegraph Engineers at Auckland and Dunedin, where samples of the clamps may be seen. A deposit as shown in the Conditions must accompany each tender.
The lowest or any tender will not necessarily be accepted.

THE following Notices to Mariners, received from the Harbours Department, Port Adelaide, and the Department of Communications, Tokyo, are published for general information.

SOUTH AUSTRALIA.
Kangaroo Island.—Backstairs Passage.—Cape St. Albans Light.
MASTERS of vessels and others are hereby informed that on and after the night of 14th August, 1914, the unwatched fixed light which is at present exhibited from Cape St. Albans will be altered to an unwatched A.G.A. flashing light, showing 20 flashes per minute, as follows: Duration of flash, 0·5 seconds; duration of eclipse, 2·5 seconds.
In clear weather the light should be visible at a distance of 14 miles, and between the same bearings as formerly—that is to say, white between the bearings of 118° (mag. S. 67° E.) and 264° (mag. S. 79° W.), and red from 264° (mag. S. 79° W.) to 355° (mag. N.) over the Scraper Shoal or till obscured by Cape Willoughby.
Approximate position: Lat. 35° 48½′ S., long. 138° 7½′ E.
This affects Admiralty Charts Nos. 2389, 1014, and 25.
Spencer Gulf.—Port Pirie River and Harbour.
Masters of vessels, pilots, and others are hereby informed that there is now not less than sixteen (16) feet of water, L.W.S., in the channel of the Port Pirie River from the entrance to the harbour, and in the harbour not less than twenty (20) feet.
This affects Admiralty Charts Nos. 2389B and 403.
West Coast.—Fowler Bay.
Masters of vessels and others are hereby informed that a Chance Bros. sixth-order port light is now shown from the Fowler Bay Jetty, in lieu of the inferior light shown previously. The white light is exhibited from a red cast-iron pillar on the sea end of the jetty, the focal plane being 25 ft. above ordinary high water, and showing between the bearings 225° (S. 42° 29′ W. mag.) and 315° (N. 47° 51′ W. mag.). Light is visible in clear weather for a distance of about 10 miles.
Approximate position: Lat. 31° 59′ 43″ S., long. 132° 26′ 55″ E.
This affects Admiralty Chart No. 1061.
JAPAN.
Hokkaido.
Notice is hereby given that the explosive fog-signal at Fukuyama Lighthouse, Fukuyama Harbour, Province of Oshima, Hokkaido, which was discontinued (see Notification No. 352 of Department of Communications, the 15th inst.) has been put into operation as ever.
Gulf of Tokyo.
Notice is hereby given that the character of light of Hommoku lighted buoy, N.E. side of the shoal off Hommokubana, Yokohama Harbour, will be changed at the end of this month to flashing white (by Pintsch’s gas as ever), showing a double flash during four (4) seconds followed by an eclipse of five (5) seconds.
Further notice will be given after the above change has been effected.
North-west Coast, Honshu.
Notice is hereby given that the luminous power of the light of Nyudo-zaki Lighthouse, N. point of Oga Peninsula, Province of Ugo, has been increased to 57,000 candles on and after the 4th of July, 1914.
