WAITARA BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

NOTICE is hereby given that the following resolution was duly passed at a properly constituted meeting of the Waitara Borough Council held on Wednesday, 14th day of January, 1914:—

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendments, and the Hospital and Charitable Institutions Act, 1909, the Waitara Borough Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £498, authorized to be raised by the Waitara Borough Council under the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose of providing the contribution of £498 required from the said Council by the Taranaki Hospital and Charitable Aid Board for the purpose of the erection of a new hospital, the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-tenth of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the Borough of Waitara; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the first days of April and October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the above is a true copy and a correct extract from the minutes of proceedings of the Waitara Borough Council at the meeting above mentioned.

THE MUNICIPAL CORPORATIONS ACT, 1908, AND THE PUBLIC WORKS ACT, 1908.

IN pursuance of the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, the body corporate called the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the City of Auckland hereby gives notice that it intends to extend its waterworks reservoir at Khyber Pass, and do all works and things incidental thereto; and for the purpose and object of so doing the land described in the Schedule hereto is required, and will require to be taken by the said Corporation under the provisions of the above Acts; and that a survey has been made and a plan prepared showing such land, together with the names of the owners and occupiers thereof so far as they can be ascertained; and that a copy of such plan has been deposited in the office of the Town Clerk of the said Corporation, at the Town Hall, Queen Street, in the City of Auckland, the place directed by the said Corporation, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected are hereby required to set forth in writing any well-grounded objections to the execution of such works or the taking of such land, and to send such writing, within forty days from the 30th day of December, 1913 (being the date of the first publication of this notice), to the Town Clerk, Auckland.

DISSOLUTION NOTICE.

THE Partnership heretofore existing between GEORGE WILLIAM VENABLES and WALTER CURNOW ABRA, in the business of Printers, Bookbinders, and General Stationers, has been dissolved by mutual consent as from the first day of January, 1914. The business will be carried on by the said GEORGE WILLIAM VENABLES as formerly, in Tennyson Street, under the old firm-name of “G. W. Venables and Co.” All outstanding book debts will be collected by the said GEORGE WILLIAM VENABLES, who will also pay all liabilities of the late firm.
