Regulation 68 is hereby amended by adding an asterisk (*) after the figure '' 1 '' under the heading '' Technical Clerks and Technical Cadets (on Probation),'' and deleting the present footnote, and inserting a footnote to read as follows:β
'' Officers who, on the 20th November, 1911, held the Civil Service Senior certificate, or having been appointed as Technical Clerks have since complied with the Department's requirements, will be considered as having qualified under these regulations.''

Temporary Employees.
WHEREAS by section 4 of the Temporary Employees Act, 1913 (hereinafter called ''the said Act''), the Public Service Commissioner, with the approval of the Governor in Council, is authorized to make regulations for the carrying-out of the provisions of the said Act:
Now, therefore, the Commissioner, in pursuance and exercise of the said authority, and with the approval of the Governor in Council, doth hereby in respect of regulations made under the said Act on the eighth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and fourteen, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the sixteenth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and fourteen, make the amendment set forth in the Schedule hereto; and doth order that such amendment shall have effect from and after the date of publication thereof in the New Zealand Gazette.
SCHEDULE.
REGULATION No. 1 is hereby amended by deleting from paragraph (e) the words ''for at least two years continuously before the 1st April, 1913,'' and inserting in lieu thereof the words ''for at least one year continuously before the 1st April, 1913.''
