A PROCLAMATION.
I N pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in the Governor by the Births and Deaths Registration Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby abolish the existing registration district known as the Wellington District, and do proclaim and declare that the territory heretofore comprised within the said district is hereby divided anew into two registration districts, the names and boundaries whereof shall be as follows:-
WELLINGTON NORTH DISTRICT.
All that area in the Wellington Land District bounded towards the north generally by Original Section No. 8 in Block III, Port Nicholson Survey District, from its westernmost corner to the Kaiwarra Stream; thence by that stream to its mouth; thence towards the south-east generally by Port Nicholson to the Thorndon Esplanade, and by the northeastern side of the said esplanade to a point in line with the northern side of Davis Street; thence to and by the northern side of Davis Street to Hobson Street, and by the northeasterm side of that street to a point in line with the western side of Moturoa Street; thence across Hobson Street and by the western side of Moturoa Street to Pipitea Street, and by the northern side of that street to a point in line with the western side of Mulgrave Street; thence to and by the western side of Mulgrave Street to a point in line with the northern side of Sydney Street; thence to and by the northern side of Sydney Street to Tinakori Road ; thence by the southeastern side of Tinakori Road and the main road to Karori to the Kaiwarra Stream; thence towards the west generally by that stream to Section VIII in Block VI, Port Nicholson Survey District; thence by the Otari Native Reserve to the westernmost corner of Section No. 8, the place of commencement.
WELLINGTON DISTRICT.
All that area in the Wellington Land District, bounded towards the north by a line running due east from the coast through the highest point of the road crossing the Paikakariki Hill to where it intersects the western boundary of Section No. 391, Akatarawa Survey District; thence towards the east generally by a right line to the north-eastern corner of Section No. 24A, Block X, Paikakariki Survey District;
thence by Section No. 28 of said block and by a road bounding the said Section No. 28 and Sections Nos. 33 and 32, passing through Sections Nos. 6, 4, 3, 11, and bounding Sections Nos. 16 and 19, all of the said Block X, and Sections Nos. 2, 6, 10, 7, 15, and 16, Block IV, Belmont Survey District, passing through Sections Nos. 59, 57, 436, 433, 345, 342, 341, 337, 334, and 332, all of Block III, the said survey district, by Sections Nos. 328, 331, 330, 329, 322, 321, 422, 423, and 22, by a road bounding the said Section No. 22 and Sections Nos. 21, 20, 16, 15, 14, 12, 11, and 9, Block VIII, Section No. 7, Block XIII, and Section No. 5, Block XII; thence by the said Section No. 5 and by Section No. 19 of the said Block XII, Belmont Survey District, and a line across the road to Port Nicholson; thence by Port Nicholson to the mouth of the Kaiwarra Stream, and by that stream to Section No. l in Block VI, Port Nicholson Survey District; thence by Sections Nos. I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, and VIII, and again by the Kaiwarra Stream to the main Karori Road; thence by the southern side of that road and Tinakori Road to Sydney Street; thence by the northern side of Sydney Street and its production to Mulgrave Street, by the western side of Mulgrave Street to and across Pipitea Street; thence by the northern side of Pipitea Street and Moturoa Street to and across Hobson Street, by the northern side of Hobson Street and Davis Street and the northern side of the latter street produced to the eastern side of Thorndon Esplanade, and by the esplanade to Port Nicholson; thence by Port Nicholson and the ocean ; and towards the south, west, and north-west by the ocean to the place of commencement, including Mana Island.
And I hereby declare that this Proclamation shall come into operation on the sixteenth day of July, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and fourteen.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Knight (Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty's Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this thirtieth day of June, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and fourteen.

ERRATUM.-In the Warrant published in Gazette of the 2nd July, 1914, page 2642, promotion of officers in the Queen Alexandra's 2nd (Wellington West Coast) Mounted Rifles, for the words "the undermentioned Captains to be Majors" read "the undermentioned Lieutenants to be Captains."
