Article 30.
The States which shall introduce in their legislation the duration of protection for fifty years contemplated by Article 7, first paragraph, of the present Convention, shall give notice thereof in writing to the Government of the Swiss Confederation, who will communicate it at once to all the other States of the Union.
The same procedure shall be followed in the case of the States renouncing the reservations made by them in virtue of Articles 25, 26, and 27.
Notice of Intention to take Land in the Borough of Palmerston North for the Purposes of an Agricultural Showground.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for the purposes of an agricultural showground. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Palmerston North, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Blocks XIV and XV, Kawhia North Survey District, for Road Purposes.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road in Blocks XIV and XV, Kawhia North Survey District—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Haururu, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

TABLE BAY.—A fog-bell, struck once about every 7 secs., is est. on the lt.-h. (33° 53′ 57″ S., 18° 25′ 48″ E.) near outer end of the breakwater. April.
DELAGOA BAY.—INHACA ISL.—A F. lt., showing white from 340° (N. 2° W. mag.), through N. and E., to 93° (S. 69° E. mag.); red thence to 140° (S. 22° E. mag.); white thence to 160° (S. 2° E. mag.); obsc. elsewhere; elev. 200 ft., R. 6 miles, is exh. in 25° 59′ 51″ S., 32° 55′ 12″ E., on barracks at Black Bluff. The nrn. white sector indic. the chan. to Port Melville. April.
RIBEIRO SHOAL.—The F. white lt. with red sector (25° 54¼′ S., 32° 48½′ E.), on srn. end of reef, has been replaced by a F. lt., showing green from 236° (S. 74° W. mag.), through W., to 100° (S. 62° E. mag.); red elsewhere. Other details unaltered. April.
POLANA CHAN.—A lt.-buoy, black, exh. a F. red lt., is est. in 25° 57′ 4″ S., 32° 39′ 32″ E., on srn. side of chan. near wrn. entr., 20·8 cables 245° (S. 84° W. mag.) from Chefina Shoal lt. Note.—Owing to irregularity in the apparatus of Chefina Shoal lt., “Irregular 1914” has been charted against this lt. April.
CHINA.
KYAU CHAU BAY.—SWALLOW BANK.—A bell and lt. buoy, black, marked “S.F.,” exh. a gp. occ. red lt., with gp. of 2 ecls. every 12 secs.—lt. 6 secs., ecl. 2 secs.; lt. 2 secs., ecl. 2 secs.—is est. in 35° 59¾′ N., 120° 22¼′ E., on nrn. edge of Swallow Bank (south shoal) 22·5 cables 82° (N. 86° E. mag.) from Dangerous Rk. beacon, in place of the black conical buoy. April.

Wireless Time Signals.
EIFFEL TOWER (48° 52′ N., 3° 20¼′ E.).—Time sigs. are to be modified in conformity with the resolutions of the Conference Internationale de l’Heure. The new sigs. will be sent with a uniform wave-length of 2,500 metres, the dashes will be of about 1 sec. and the dots of about ¼ sec. dura., with an interval of about 1 sec. between component dots and dashes in the same gp. The time sigs. will be made at 22 h. and 12 h. G. Astronomical M.T. as follows:—
Preparative Sig.—A series of the letter “X” of the Morse alphabet from 21 h. 57 m. to 21 h. 57 m. 50 s. and from 11 h. 57 m. to 11 h. 57 m. 50 s., followed by three dashes ending at 21 h. 58 m. and 11 h. 58 m.
First series of time sigs.—Commencing at 21 h. 58 m. 8 s. and 11 h. 58 m. 8 s., the letter “N” of the Morse alphabet, repeated every 10 secs., the dot being made at each even 10 secs.; followed by three dashes ending at 21 h. 59 m. and 11 h. 59 m.
Second series of time sigs.—Commencing at 21 h. 59 m. 6 s. and 11 h. 59 m. 6 s., the letter “G” of the Morse alphabet repeated every 10 secs., the dot being made at each even 10 secs.; followed by three dashes ending at 22 h. and 12 h.
Note.—The date of the above alterations is not yet settled.
