REFERRING to Notice to Mariners No. 6 of 1914, notice is hereby given that the beacon reported as being down has now been restored.

Notice to Mariners No. 56 of 1914.
AUCKLAND HARBOUR.—FOG-SIGNAL, QUEEN’S WHARF.
Marine Department,
Wellington, N.Z., 25th May, 1914.
THE Auckland Harbour Board have notified that a 16 in. electrically driven bell has been installed on the N.W. corner of Shed 18, Queen’s Wharf, and during foggy weather will ring continuously.

Notice to Mariners No. 57 of 1914.
PICTON HARBOUR.—DEMOLISHING THE OLD RAILWAY WHARF.

Wellington, N.Z., 26th May, 1914.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Railway Department are starting to demolish the old railway wharf at Picton. The fixed green light now exhibited from the end of wharf will still be exhibited as the wharf is being demolished.
Charts, &c., affected: Admiralty Charts Nos. 1509 and 2685; “New Zealand Pilot,” eighth edition, 1908, Chapter vi, page 176; “New Zealand Nautical Almanac,” 1914, pages 314 and 315, and plan facing page 314.

Notice by the Public Trustee under the Public Trust Office Act, 1908 (Part II), and its Amendments.
To the owner of the following land, that is to say: All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Auckland, containing by admeasurement 40 acres, more or less, being middle portion of Allotment 102, Parish of Mangapai, County of Marsden. Bounded on the north-east by other portion of Allotment 102, 3176 links; on the south-east by a road 100 links wide, 1030 and 200 links; on the south-west by other portion of Allotment 102 aforesaid, 3460 links; and on the north-west by a line 1,200 links. The land was Crown-granted to James Sink, of Mahurangi, Labourer, who cannot now be traced.
WHEREAS the Public Trustee has instituted inquiries, and has been unable to find the owner of the above-described land or any agent of such owner in New Zealand:
Now, the Public Trustee hereby calls upon such owner, within six months of the date of the publication of this notice in this Gazette, to establish to the satisfaction of the Public Trustee his title to the said land; and if he fails or neglects so to do, the Public Trustee will exercise the powers and authorities granted to him in and by the Public Trust Office Act, 1908 (Part II).

The land is the property of N. Lewis, whose address is unknown and who cannot now be traced.

To the owner of the following land, that is to say: All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Otago, containing by admeasurement 2 roods, more or less, being Allotments 35 and 37 on the plan of the Township of Teaneraki, deposited in the Lands Registry Office at Dunedin under No. 110. The last registered owner of the land is John Lemon, of Oamaru, Settler (as trustee for James Lees). The whereabouts of the said John Lemon and the said James Lees, or their representatives, has not been able to be ascertained.
WHEREAS the Public Trustee has instituted inquiries, and has been unable to find the owner of the above-described land or any agent of such owner in New Zealand:

Patents, Designs, and Trade-marks Act, 1911.—Application for Restoration of Lapsed Patent under Section 22.
NOTICE is hereby given that Alfred Launcelot James Tait, of Crawford Street, Dunedin, New Zealand, has made application for the restoration of the patent granted to him for an invention for “A method or process of and improved apparatus for treating and dressing flax and other fibres,” numbered 18601, and bearing date the 17th October, 1904, which expired on the 17th October, 1908, owing to the non-payment of the prescribed renewal fee.
Any person may, on or before the 9th June, 1914, give notice at the Patent Office of opposition to the restoration.
Such notice must be in duplicate, in the prescribed form, set forth the particular grounds of objection, and be accompanied by a stamp for the fee of 10s.
