I therefore declare the proposal to be carried.

BOROUGH OF INVERCARGILL.
GASWORKS LOAN.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Invercargill taken on the 29th day of April, 1914, on the proposal of the Invercargill Borough Council to borrow the sum of £15,000 for the public works mentioned in the proposal published in the Southland Times newspaper on the 24th and 31st March, 7th and 14th April, 1914, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 1,295, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 933.
I therefore declare the proposal to be carried.

The Inhabitants of the Otorohanga Native Township.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Inhabitants of the Otorohanga Native Township taken on the 29th day of April, 1914, on the proposal of the Council of the Inhabitants of the Otorohanga Native Township to borrow the sum of two thousand two hundred and fifty pounds for the purpose of acquiring a site and erecting a town hall within the said township, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 97; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 7; informal votes, 9.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

RESOLUTION.
The Inhabitants of the Otorohanga Native Township.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Council of the Inhabitants of the Otorohanga Native Township hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £2,250, authorized to be raised by the Council of the Inhabitants of the Otorohanga Native Township, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for the purpose of acquiring a site and erecting a town hall within the Township of Otorohanga, the said Council of the Inhabitants of the Otorohanga Native Township hereby makes and levies a special rate of two-thirds of a penny in the pound on the capital value of all rateable property in the Township of Otorohanga; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the fifteenth day of August and the fifteenth day of February in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of fourteen years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
The common seal of the Inhabitants of the Otorohanga Native Township was hereunto affixed this 4th day of May, 1914. in the presence of—

BOROUGH OF BIRKENHEAD.
RESOLUTION STRIKING SPECIAL RATE OF 2½d. IN THE POUND AS SECURITY FOR ADDITIONAL LOAN OF £3,200.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Birkenhead Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—
“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and sinking fund on a loan of three thousand two hundred pounds (£3,200), authorized to be raised by the Birkenhead Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of paying off excess on contracts and other liabilities lawfully incurred in connection with the completion of the borough waterworks and road-construction works, the said Birkenhead Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of twopence halfpenny (2½d.) in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the Borough of Birkenhead, comprising Blocks 1, 2, 3, 57 to 67, Sections 1, 2, 5, 7 to 13 of Block 121, 128 to 164, and 227 to 230, all inclusive, of Blocks VII, XI, and XII, Waitemata District; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”
I hereby certify that the above is a true copy of a resolution passed by the Birkenhead Borough Council at a special meeting held on Thursday, the 23rd day of April, 1914.

WAITOTARA COUNTY COUNCIL.
TEN PER CENT. LOAN.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Waitotara County Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £170, being ten per centum on a loan of £1,700, authorized to be raised by the Waitotara County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of providing half cost of the formation of four (4) miles of the Raorikia Road, the said Waitotara County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-sixteenth of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Te Tuhi Special-rating District, as gazetted on page 99 of the New Zealand Gazette, 1913, in connection with the original Te Tuhi Special-rating District; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable in one sum on the first day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
Description of boundaries: The whole of the Te Tuhi Special-rating District.
