Amendment in Stores Regulation made under the Public Service Act, 1912.
WHEREAS by section thirty-four of the Public Service Act, 1912 (hereinafter called “the said Act”), the Commissioner, with the approval of the Governor in Council, is authorized to make regulations for the carrying-out of the provisions of the said Act:
Now, therefore, the Commissioner, in pursuance and exercise of the said authority, and with the approval of the Governor in Council, doth hereby, in respect of the Stores Regulations made under the authority of the said Act on the eighteenth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen, and published in the New Zealand Gazette on the nineteenth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen, make the amendment set forth in the Schedule hereto, and doth order that such amendment shall come into force on the first day of publication thereof in the New Zealand Gazette.
SCHEDULE.
PARAGRAPH (g) of Regulation No. 4 is hereby amended by deleting the words “a quorum of the Board,” and substituting in lieu thereof the words “the Chairman and at least one other member of the Board.”

Declaring a Native to be a European.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this twenty-seventh day of April, 1914.
Present:
THE HONOURABLE W. H. HERRIES PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section seventeen of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1912, it is enacted that the Governor may by Order in Council, on the recommendation of the Native Land Court, declare any Native to be a European:
And whereas Ernest Taniwha Sutherland, of Raetihi, being a Native within the meaning of the Native Land Act, 1909, applied in the prescribed form for a recommendation of the Court that he might be declared a European: And whereas the said Court, having duly inquired into the said application, has recommended that an Order in Council be issued declaring the said Ernest Taniwha Sutherland to be a European: And whereas it is expedient that such declaration should be made:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authority conferred on him by section seventeen of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1912, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare the said Ernest Taniwha Sutherland to be a European.

Arrangements for First Election. Upper Mangapiko Drainage District.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint
RODERICK ANGUS MCKINNON, Esquire,
of Rotorangi, to be Returning Officer and the person to prepare an electors roll for the purposes of the first election of seven members of the Board of the Upper Mangapiko Land Drainage District, County of Waipu, as constituted under the Land Drainage Act, 1908; also to appoint Saturday, the 16th day of May, 1914, to be the date, and the residence of Mr. H. C. Bertlesen at Rotorangi to be the place, at which the said first election shall be held; also to appoint Saturday, the 23rd day of May, 1914, at 10 o’clock in the forenoon to be the date, and the said residence of Mr. H. C. Bertlesen at Rotorangi to be the place, at which the first meeting of the said Board shall be held.
