SUMMARY FOR THE MONTH OF MARCH, 1914.

The weather was, on the whole, mild and seasonable. Rainfall was generally below the average, especially on the West Coast, but some useful rains fell on the east coasts of both Islands.

Westerly areas of low pressure passed in the south in the opening and closing days of the month, and sub-tropical lows in the north in the middle of the month, and from the 24th to the 27th, but the atmospheric pressure was generally above the average.
