DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

IT is hereby notified for general information that the interest of William Tonks, late of Christchurch, Auctioneer and Land Agent, deceased, in the business of Messrs. Tonks, Norton, and Co., Auctioneers, Land and Estate Agents, Christchurch, has been acquired by Mr. WILLIAM HENRY GRANTLY NORTON, of Christchurch, who is entitled to receive all moneys due to the said firm and is responsible for its liabilities.

TUAMARINA RIVER BOARD.

RESOLUTION STRIKING SPECIAL RATE.

THE following resolution, that an annual-recurring rate of one farthing in the pound be struck on all rateable property in the Board’s district, to provide payment of the interest and sinking fund on the £500 loan, was passed at the ordinary meeting on 2nd April, 1914:—

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Tuamarina River Board hereby resolves as follows,—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of (£500) five hundred pounds, authorized to be raised by the Tuamarina River Board, under the above-mentioned Act, for river-protective works, the said Tuamarina River Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one farthing in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the Tuamarina River District; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the first day of February and the first day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

WAIROA COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.—LOAN OF £1,750, CONSTRUCTION EREPETI BRIDGE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Wairoa County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £1,750, authorized to be raised by the Wairoa County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of providing half the cost of erection of a bridge over the Ruakituri River, Erepeti Crossing, on the Ruakituri Valley Road, and the cost of raising the loan to be paid out of the loan, the said Wairoa County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one penny halfpenny (1½d.) in the pound sterling upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Erepeti Special-rating District, bounded as follows: Commencing at the south-western corner of S.G.R. 94, Block X, Tuahu Survey District, following the western and northern boundary of that run and the northern boundaries of S.G.R. 95 and Sections 6, 4, and 3, Block XI, Tuahu Survey District, and the eastern boundary of the said Section 3 to its south-east corner, following the southern boundary of the said Section 3, Section 5, Block XI, Tuahu Survey District, and Sections 1 and 2 and S.G.R. 94, Block X, Tuahu Survey District, to the point of commencement, and being the following lands—Sections 1 and 2 and Small Grazing-run 94, Block X, and Sections 3, 4, 5, 6, and Small Grazing-run 95, Block XI, all in the Tuahu Survey District. And that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

The foregoing resolution was duly passed at a special meeting of the Wairoa County Council held on Friday, the 17th day of April, 1914.

In testimony whereof the common seal of the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Wairoa has been hereto affixed.

THE KARAUNUI DREDGING COMPANY (LIMITED).

NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of the Karaunui Dredging Company (Limited), held at the registered office of the company, No. 152 High Street, Dunedin, on Friday, 17th April, 1914, at 7.30 p.m., the following extraordinary resolution was duly passed:—

“That the company cannot by reason of its liabilities continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same, and that the company be wound up accordingly under the Companies Act, 1908, and that a Liquidator be appointed for the purpose of such winding-up; and that GEORGE ARTHUR HARLOW, of Dunedin, Accountant, be and he is hereby appointed Liquidator for the purposes of such winding-up.”

NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of the above-named company held at Timaru on Wednesday, the 18th day of March, 1914, the following special resolutions were passed; and at a subsequent extraordinary general meeting of the said company held at Timaru on Friday, the 3rd day of April, 1914, the said resolutions were duly confirmed, viz. :—

“(1.) That the Timaru Post Newspaper Company (Limited) be voluntarily wound up.
“(2.) That Mr. A. C. MARTIN be and is hereby appointed Liquidator.”
