THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

  1. With the view of ensuring that school-children reported
    to be unfit shall, as far as possible, receive immediate and
    adequate attention, and to prevent any overlapping or friction
    that might otherwise arise from lack of combined action, it
    will be the duty of the Inspector to consult with the District
    Health Officers, or other public officers (if any) especially
    appointed in pursuance of the scheme of medical inspection,
    and generally to act in conjunction with them.

  2. In all matters of emergency arising out of his work
    the Medical Inspector must report immediately (by wire, if
    necessary) to the District Health Officer, who will be in-
    structed to offer him every assistance.

  3. Salary, £450 per annum (with travelling-expenses in
    accordance with the Regulations). Professional Division.

  4. The usual holidays allowed to officers of the Public
    Service will be granted.

  5. Appointment to be subject to the Public Service Act,

  6. It will be made for one year and will be renewable.

Notice by the Public Trustee under the Public Trust Office Act, 1908 (Part II), and its Amendments.

To the owner of the following land, that is to say: All
that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Auck-
land, containing by admeasurement 40 acres, more or
less, being Section 103, Parish of Owhiwa. The last
registered owner of the land was ALFRED EDWARD ISAACS,
of Sydney, New South Wales, Merchant, who cannot
now be traced.

WHEREAS the Public Trustee has instituted inquiries
and has been unable to find the owner of the above-
described land or any agent of such owner in New Zealand:
Now, the Public Trustee hereby calls upon such owner,
within six months of the date of the publication of this
notice in this Gazette, to establish to the satisfaction of the
Public Trustee his title to the said land; and if he fails or
neglects so to do, the Public Trustee will exercise the
powers and authorities granted to him in and by the
Public Trust Office Act, 1908 (Part II).

Patents, Designs, and Trade-marks Act, 1911.—Application for Restoration of Lapsed Patent under Section 22.

NOTICE is hereby given that Alfred Launcelot James
Tait, of Crawford Street, Dunedin, New Zealand, has
made application for the restoration of the patent granted
to him for an invention for “A method or process of and
improved apparatus for treating and dressing flax and other
fibres,” numbered 18601, and bearing date the 17th October,
1904, which expired on the 17th October, 1908, owing to the
non-payment of the prescribed renewal fee.

Any person may, on or before the 9th June, 1914, give
notice at the Patent Office of opposition to the restoration.

Such notice must be in duplicate, in the prescribed form,
set forth the particular grounds of objection, and be accom-
panied by a stamp for the fee of 10s.

mentioned lands having been forfeited by resolution
of the Nelson Land Board, the said lands have thereby re-
verted to the Crown under the provisions of the Land Act,
1908.

Land in Hillersden Settlement, Marlborough, for Selection on Renewable Lease.

District Lands and Survey Office,

NOTICE is hereby given, in pursuance of section 21 of
the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1913, that the
undermentioned section is open for selection on renewable
lease, under the provisions of the Land Act, 1908, and amend-
ments, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1908; and appli-
cations will be received at this office up to 4 o’clock p.m. on
Monday, 18th May, 1914.

Applicants will have to appear in person before the Land
Board, at the District Lands and Survey Office, Blenheim,
at 10 o’clock a.m. on Tuesday, 19th May, 1914, to answer
any questions the Land Board may ask; but if any appli-
cant so desires, he may be examined by the Land Board of
the district in which he resides.

The ballot for the section, if there is more than one appli-
cant, will be held at the District Lands and Survey Office,
Blenheim, at 11 o’clock a.m. on Wednesday, 20th May, 1914.

Preference at the ballot will be given to landless appli-
cants who have children dependent on them, or who have
within the preceding two years applied for land at least twice
unsuccessfully.

lease by public auction, for terms of twenty-one years, at
this office at 11 o’clock a.m. on Friday, the 19th June, 1914,
under the provisions of the Education Reserves Act, 1908,
and amendments, and the Public Bodies’ Leases Act, 1908.
