APRIL 24.] THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE. 1527

The inclusion of the suburban boroughs tends to lower the rate at each of the four centres.

Including the suburbs, the rate at Auckland is the highest, and at Wellington the lowest.

Compared with March, 1913, the results are,—

The deaths in March were 251—an increase of 18 as compared with the previous month. Of the total deaths males contributed 141, females 110. Sixty-two of the deaths were of children under five years of age, being 24·70 per cent. of the whole number; 55 of these were under one year of age.
