Defining the Middle-line of a Further Portion of the Kaihu Valley Railway.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the further portion of the Kaihu Valley Railway from Waima Station to a point in or near Section 28, Block XI, Waipoua Survey District (hereinafter referred to as “the said railway”), is a railway, the construction of which is authorized by the Railways Authorization Act, 1913: And whereas the said railway has been partly constructed, and it has been determined to construct and maintain a further portion of the same:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the middle-line of the said further portion of the said railway shall be that defined and set forth in the Schedule hereto.


SCHEDULE.

COMMENCING at a point in Railway Reserve in Township of Waima, Block XIII, Tutamoe Survey District, marked 19 miles 29 chains on the plan hereinafter mentioned, which point is the same as or adjacent to the point marked 3 miles 2·50 chains on sheet No. 4 of the plan marked P.W.D. 17648 referred to in a Proclamation dated the 11th day of May, 1896, published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 7 of the 14th day of May, 1896; proceeding thence in a north westerly direction generally for a distance of 4 miles 46 chains, and passing in, into, through, or over the following lands, &c., viz.: Township of Waima, Section 13, Block XIII, Tutamoe Survey District; Sections 11, 10, Road Reserve, and Section 6, Block XIII, Waipoua Survey District; Sections 6, 1, Native Reserve, Road Reserve, part Section 2, Section 3A, Section 20, Road Reserve, and Section 28, Block XI, Waipoua Survey District; and terminating at a point in the said Section 28, Block XI, Waipoua Survey District, marked 23 miles 75 chains; about 5 chains west of the point where the road between Sections 28 and 29, Block XI, Waipoua Survey District, crosses the Waima River, including all adjoining and intervening places, lands, reserves, roads, tracks, lakes, rivers, streams, and watercourses: all in the Auckland Land District: as the same is delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 34715, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District.

Land set apart in the Town of Millerton for the Purposes of a Drill-shed.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is Crown land and is required to be set apart for the purposes of a drill-shed in the Town of Millerton:

And whereas by section twenty-one of the Public Works Act, 1908, it is enacted that whenever any Crown land is required to be set apart for any public work, the Governor may at any time, by Proclamation, set the same apart for such public work without complying with any of the provisions of that Act in respect of the taking or setting-apart of other lands for such purpose:

And whereas by section eighty-eight of the Defence Act, 1909, it is also enacted that the Governor may, inter alia, from time to time set apart any Crown land for the erection of drill-sheds:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities in me vested by the Public Works Act, 1908, and the Defence Act, 1909, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby set apart for the purposes of the said drill-shed, and I also hereby declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the seventh day of February, one thousand nine hundred and fourteen.

In the Nelson Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked and coloured as above mentioned, and deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken for a further portion of the Picton-Hurunui Railway—portion of the Mirza Section, Mills Section, and portion of the Kekerangu Section—for road-diversions in connection therewith, and for road approaches thereto:

And whereas all the conditions precedent required by law to be observed and performed prior to the taking of such land for the purposes hereinbefore specified have been observed and performed:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by section one hundred and eighty-eight of the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land mentioned in
