Prohibiting all Private Alienation of certain Native Land.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this third day of April, 1914.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

ON the recommendation of the Native Land Purchase Board, referred to in section three hundred and sixty-three of the Native Land Act, 1909, and in exercise of the power in this behalf conferred upon him by that section, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby prohibit, for the period of one year from the date of this Order in Council, all alienations of the Native lands specified in the Schedule hereto other than alienations in favour of the Crown.

Revocation of an Order in Council under Section 296 of the Native Land Act, 1909.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this third day of April, 1914.

Present:

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE W. F. MASSEY PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section two hundred and ninety-six of the Native Land Act, 1909, it is enacted that any Order in Council made under Part XVI of that Act, or under Part II of the Native Land Settlement Act, 1907, may be at any time revoked, either wholly or as to any part or parts of the land included therein, by the Governor by Order in Council; and thereupon the land so subject to that Part of that Act shall, to the extent of that revocation, cease to be so subject: No land shall by reason of any such order of revocation cease to be subject to that Part of that Act at any time during the continuance of the term of any lease of that land granted by a Maori Land Board under that Part of that Act (including in that term the term of any renewal to which the lessee is entitled):

And whereas a parcel of land known as Papamoa No. 2 Section 3c has been, by Order in Council dated the fourteenth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and nine, brought under the provisions of Part XVI of the Native Land Act, 1909: And whereas application has been made to revoke the said Order in Council in so far as it affects the said parcel of land

And whereas the Waiariki District Maori Land Board recommends accordingly: And whereas it is expedient so to do:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke the said Order in Council in so far as it affects Papamoa No. 2, Section 3c; and it is hereby declared that this Order in Council is made under the provisions in that behalf of the Native Land Act, 1909, and shall operate accordingly as a consent of the Governor in Council to the proceedings hereby authorized.

Vesting a Cemetery Reserve in the Waipukurau County Council.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this eighth day of April, 1914.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto has been permanently reserved for a public cemetery: And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it is expedient to vest the said reserve in the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the Waipukurau County:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the fourth section of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908, doth hereby declare that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the reserve described in the Schedule hereto shall become vested in the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the Waipukurau County, in trust, for a public cemetery.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 acre, more or less, being Section 20A (Hatuma Settlement), Block I, Motuotaria Survey District. Bounded towards the north by Makotukutuku Road for a distance of 253·6 links; towards the south-east by Section 1, Block I, Motuotaria Survey District, for a distance of 421·4 links; towards the south-west by aforesaid Section 1 for a distance of 250 links; and towards the north-west by Section 2, Block V, of said district, for a distance of 378·7 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1725/1, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Assigning Name “Herriesville” to a certain Locality.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

WHEREAS by the Designation of Districts Act, 1908, it is enacted that the Governor may assign a name or designation to any district or other place or locality whatsoever in New Zealand: And whereas a petition has been received from certain residents in the locality hereinafter referred to praying to have the name “Herriesville” assigned to such locality, and it is desirable to assign such name accordingly:

Now, therefore. I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in me by the Designation of Districts Act, 1908, do hereby assign as from the date hereof the name Herriesville to the locality described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District bounded towards the north by the southern boundary of the Ohinemuri County from Gould’s Road to the Waihou River; thence towards the north-east by that river to the Te Aroha–Waihou Road; thence towards the south-east by the Te Aroha–Waihou Road to Gould’s Road; and thence towards the west by Gould’s Road to the southern boundary of Ohinemuri County, the place of commencement.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this ninth day of April, on thousand nine hundred and fourteen.
