Defining the Middle-line of a Portion of the Waiuku Branch
of the North Island Main Trunk Railway.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the Waiuku branch of the North Island
Main Trunk Railway (hereinafter termed “the said
railway”) is a railway the construction of which is authorized
by the Railways Authorization Act, 1912: And whereas it
has been determined to construct and maintain a portion of
the said railway:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of
Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand,
in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities con-
ferred on me by section one hundred and eighty-eight of the
Public Works Act, 1908, and in exercise of every other power
and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do
hereby proclaim and declare that the middle-line of the said
portion of railway shall be that defined and set forth in the
Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
COMMENCING at a point in the railway reserve adjoining Sec-
tion 79, Karaka Parish, Block XI, Drury Survey District,
which point is also a point on the Kaipara-Waikato Railway
line, and proceeding thence generally in a westerly direction
for a distance of about three miles, and passing in, into,
through, or over the following lands, &c.—viz., the said rail-
way reserve, part Lot 2 of Section 79 and Section 60, Karaka
Parish; Lots 119, 120, 122, 129, 152, 142, 148, 147, and 149,
all of Section 2, Pukekohe Parish, Block XI, Drury Survey
District, and Section 71, Pukekohe Parish, Blocks XI and X,
Drury Survey District; Sections 1, 3, and 2, Karaka Parish;
and Sections 64, 60, 61, and 59, and part Lot 11 of Section 38,
Pukekohe Parish, Block X, Drury Survey District—and ter-
minating at a point in the said part Lot 11 of Section 38,
Pukekohe Parish, Block X, Drury Survey District, marked
3 miles: including all adjoining and intervening places, lands,
reserves, roads, tracks, lakes, rivers, streams, and water-
courses: all in the Land District of Auckland: as the same
is delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 35169, deposited in
the office of the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington, in
the Wellington Provincial District.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile,
Earl of Liverpool, Knight Commander of the
Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian
Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over His Majesty's Dominion of New Zea-
land and its Dependencies; and issued under
the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Govern-
ment House, at Wellington, this twenty-fourth day
of March, in the year of our Lord one thousand
nine hundred and fourteen.

of the North Auckland Railway.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the Whangarei branch of the North Auck-
land Railway (hereinafter termed “the said rail-
way”) is a railway the construction of which is authorized
by the Railway Authorization Act, 1912: And whereas it has
been determined to construct and maintain a portion of the
said railway:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of
Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in
pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities con-
ferred upon me by the Public Works Act, 1908, and in exercise
of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me
in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the
middle-line of the said portion of railway shall be that defined
and set forth in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
COMMENCING at a point in Kioreroa Station-yard, on the
Kawakawa-Grahamtown Railway, marked “0 miles” on
plan; thence in a south-westerly direction generally for a
distance of 15 miles 5 chains, and passing in, into, through,
or over the following lands, &c.—viz., mud-flats, Whangarei
Harbour; Kioreroa High School Endowment (3494); Te
Rewarewa (33); mud-flats, Whangarei Harbour; the
Otaika River; mud-flats, Whangarei Harbour; Section 11;
mud-flats, Whangarei Harbour; Sections 1 and 1A, Block
XIII, Whangarei Survey District; Sections 1A, 3, 4, 5, road
reserve; Section 123, road reserve; Sections 29 and 30,
Block I, Ruakaka Survey District; Sections 29, 30, 135,
Waikaurakaura Creek; Katetoke Creek; Section 142, road
reserve; Sections 134, 136, road reserve; Sections 141 and
104, Block IV, Tangihua Survey District; Sections 104, 86,
2, road reserve; Sections 21, 20, 14, road reserve; Sec-
tion 4, Taurarua River; Section 43, road reserve; Section 1,
road reserve; Sections 1, 45, 44, and road reserve, Block IX,
Tangihua Survey District; Section 44, road reserve; Sec-
tion 2, road reserve; Sections 2, 3, road reserve; Section 3,
road reserve; Sections 49A, 4, 53, road reserve, 54, road
reserve; Sections 55, 56, Block VIII, Tangihua Survey Dis-
trict—and terminating at a point in the said Section 56,
Block VIII, Tangihua Survey District, marked 15 miles
5 chains about 50 links from the northern boundary and
about 11 chains from the north-west corner of the said Sec-
tion 56, Block VIII, Tangihua Survey District, including all
adjoining and intervening places, land, reserves, roads, tracks,
lakes, rivers, streams, and watercourses: all in the Auckland
Land District: as the same is delineated on the plan marked
P.W.D. 34884, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public
Works, at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District.

Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian

His Majesty's Assent to the Shipping and Seamen Amendment
Act, 1913, and Date Act comes into Operation.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by the Constitution Act it is, amongst other
things, provided that no Bill reserved for the signifi-
cation of His Majesty's pleasure thereon shall have any force
or authority within the Dominion of New Zealand until the
Governor of the said Dominion signifies by Speech or Message
to the Legislative Council and the House of Representatives
of the said Dominion, or by Proclamation, that such Bill has
been laid before His Majesty in Council, and that His Majesty
has been pleased to assent to the same:
And whereas a certain Bill passed by the Legislative
Council and House of Representatives of the said Dominion
intituled “An Act to amend the Shipping and Seamen Act,
1908,” the Short Title of which is “The Shipping and Sea-
men Amendment Act, 1913,” was presented to the Governor
for His Majesty's assent, and the said Bill was reserved for
the signification of His Majesty's pleasure thereon:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of
Liverpool, Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in
pursuance of the provisions of the said in-part-recited Act,
do by this Proclamation signify and proclaim to all whom
it may concern that the said Bill has been laid before His
Majesty in Council, and that His Majesty has been pleased
to assent to the same; and I do further declare that it shall
come into operation on the first day of May, one thousand
nine hundred and fourteen.
