THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

New Zealand Gazette; and doth hereby proclaim and declare that from and after such date the parcels of land described in Part I of the said Schedule shall be no longer subject to the provisions of the said Act.

SCHEDULE.
PART I.
ALL that area in the Southland Land District, containing approximately 380 acres, situated in Block XIX, Jacob's River Hundred, and bounded as follows: Commencing at the westernmost angle of Sawmill Area No. 404B, thence due west for a distance of 40 chains, thence due south for a distance of 45 chains, thence again west for a distance of 35 chains, thence due south to the north boundary of Sawmill Area No. 490, thence east and north along the State forest boundary to the commencing-point.
Also all that area in Block XIX, Jacob's River Hundred, containing approximately 850 acres, and bounded as follows: Commencing at the westernmost angle of Sawmill Area No. 404B, thence north-east along the north-west boundary of said Sawmill Area No. 404B for a distance of 20 chains, thence due east for a distance of 38 chains to the north-west boundary of Sawmill Area No. 584A, thence north-east along said north-west boundary to the northernmost corner of Area No. 584A aforesaid; thence south-east along the north-eastern boundary of said Area No. 584A for a distance of 35 chains, thence north-easterly to the south-west corner of Sawmill Area No. 492, thence north-westerly along the south-western boundary of Area No. 492 aforesaid to the southern boundary of Sawmill Area No. 492A, thence westerly along the said southern boundary of Area 492A to its south-western angle, thence north-westerly along the western boundary of said Area 492A to its north-western angle, thence north-easterly along the northern boundary of said Area No. 492A to the north boundary of Block XIX aforesaid, thence due east to the State forest boundary, thence southerly and westerly along the State forest boundary to the commencing-point.
Also all that area in Block XXII, Jacob's River Hundred, containing approximately 830 acres, and bounded as follows: Commencing at the north-eastern corner of Sawmill Area No. 603, thence due north to the State forest boundary, thence south-east along the State forest boundary to the southern boundary of Block XXII aforesaid, thence west along the State forest boundary to the south-western corner of Sawmill Area No. 425, thence north to the southern boundary of Sawmill Area No. 425A, thence west to the south-western corner of Sawmill Area No. 425A aforesaid, thence north along the western boundaries of Sawmill Areas Nos. 425A and 425B to the south-eastern boundary of Sawmill Area No. 348A, thence by a right line to the south-eastern corner of Sawmill Area No. 603, thence due north to the starting-point.
As the same are delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1913/779A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
Also all that area in Block II, Forest Hill Hundred, containing approximately 270 acres, and bounded as follows: commencing at the north-western corner of Section 328 of said Block II, thence southerly along the western boundary of said Section 328 to the north-western angle of Section 108 of said Block II, thence south-easterly along the south-western boundary of said Section 108 to the north-eastern angle of Section 33 of said block, thence south-westerly along the north-western boundary of Section 33 aforesaid to the north-eastern angle of Section 207 of said Block II, thence north-westerly along the north-eastern boundary of said Section 207 to its north-western corner, thence northerly along the State forest boundary to the northern boundary of said Block II, thence by a right line easterly to the commencing-point: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1913/779B, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
Also all that area in Block VII, Aparima Hundred, containing approximately 640 acres, and bounded as follows: Commencing at westernmost corner of Section 12 of said Block VII, thence north-easterly along the north-western boundary of said Section 12 to the State forest boundary, thence south and south-easterly along the said State forest boundary to the southernmost angle of Section 22 of said Block VII, thence due west for a distance of 90 chains, thence by a right line due north until it meets the south-western boundary of Section 12 aforesaid, thence north-westerly along the aforesaid south-western boundary to the commencing-point: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1913/779C, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
Also all that area in Blocks V, VII, and XII, Longwood District, containing approximately 160 acres, and bounded as follows: Commencing at the north-eastern corner of Sawmill Area No. 387G, thence due west for a distance of 38 chains, thence due south for a distance of 42 chains, thence due east for a distance of 38 chains, thence due north for a distance of 42 chains to the commencing-point: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1913/779D, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
Also all that area in the Southland Land District, containing approximately 205 acres, being Section 350, river and river reserve, Block XVI, Forest Hill Hundred, bounded as follows: Commencing at the north-western corner of said Section 350, thence due east for a distance of 5323 links, thence at a bearing of 182° 6′ for a distance of 537·6 links, thence at a bearing of 188° 21′ for a distance of 1783·9 links, thence at a bearing of 292° 47′ for a distance of 246·7 links, thence at a bearing of 240° to the centre of the Lora Stream, thence southerly along the centre of said stream to a point due east of the north-eastern corner of Section 331, Block XVI aforesaid, thence due west to the said north-eastern corner, thence due west for a distance of 1260 links, thence due south for a distance of 430 links, thence due west for a distance of 3025·5 links, thence due north for a distance of 4500·1 links, to the commencing-point: be all the aforesaid bearings and linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1913/634, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
PART II.
Proclamation dated the 24th day of February, 1886, and published in New Zealand Gazette No. 11, of the 4th day of March, 1886.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty's Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-sixth day of February, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and fourteen.

Land reserved under the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), a Scenery Preservation Board is constituted, and it is enacted that such Board shall, when so directed by the Minister charged for the time being with the administration of the said Act, inspect any lands possessing scenic or historic interest, or on which there are thermal springs, and make inquiries respecting the same, and report to the Governor; and shall from time to time recommend what lands, whether Crown or private, shall be permanently reserved as scenic, thermal, or historic reserves: And whereas the said Board was duly directed to inspect and report on the land described in the Schedule hereunder, and has recommended that the said land should be permanently reserved for scenic purposes, and it is expedient to give effect to such recommendation:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers contained in the said Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereunder shall be a scenic reserve under the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, and subject to the provisions thereof.
