COOK COUNTY COUNCIL.
A SPECIAL RESOLUTION PASSED AT A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COUNCIL ON MONDAY, 2ND NOVEMBER, 1914.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Cook County Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £1,200 (twelve hundred pounds), authorized to be raised by the Cook County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for constructing Huxley and Tyndall Roads with steel ways, and metalling a portion of Wainui Road for the carriage of heavy loads of bricks and other material, the said Cook County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of two-ninths of a penny in the pound upon the capital value of all rateable property of the Huxley Road Special-rating District, comprising all the lands described in the Schedule hereto attached; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of July in each and every year during a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off. The rate of interest to be 4½ per cent. per annum.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership hitherto existing between us, the undersigned, ROBERT GUTHRIE and REES MADDOCK, carrying on business at Gisborne as Drapers, under the style or firm of “Guthrie and Maddock,” has been dissolved by mutual consent as from the 14th day of November, 1914.
The business will in future be carried on, under the style of “Guthrie and Maddock,” by the said REES MADDOCK solely, who will discharge all liabilities owing by and receive all moneys due to the said firm.

ELTHAM COUNTY COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Eltham County Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £500, authorized to be raised by the Eltham County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purposes of erection of the Whenuakura Bridge (on bridge-site, Rawhitiroa Road, Omona Riding) and widening of the Karewa Track formation to twelve feet for a distance of one and a half miles, more or less, the whole comprising one continuous public work, the said Eltham County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one penny and one-sixteenth of one penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Karewa Road Special-rating Area, comprising Section No. 1 of Block VIII, Section No. 4 of Block VII, and Sections Nos. 9 and 10 of Block XI, Omona Survey District, respectively; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and one-half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

The foregoing resolution was duly passed at a properly convened special meeting of the Eltham County Council held on the 31st day of October, 1914.

ELTHAM COUNTY COUNCIL.
MAATA ROAD LOAN.—SPECIAL ORDER AUTHORIZING RAISING OF LOAN.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by section 16 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and with the consent of the ratepayers of the special-rating area of the Eltham County hereinafter described, testified by a petition signed by not less than three-fourths of the ratepayers of the said special-rating area the capital values of whose properties as appearing in the valuation roll of the said county is collectively greater than the capital values of the properties of the ratepayers who did not so consent, the Eltham County Council hereby resolves by way of special order as follows:—
For the purpose of forming and metalling the Maata Road from the Rawhitiroa Road southwards for a distance of twenty-five chains, more or less, the Eltham County Council hereby authorizes the raising of a loan of £250 at £5 12s. 2d. per cent. per annum (including sinking fund) for a period of 36½ years, and declares that the cost of raising the said loan and the first year’s interest on the loan shall be payable out of the money so raised.

Western portions of Sections 29 (88 a. 2 r. 0 p.) and 31 (158 a. 1 r. 0 p.), Block XI, Ngaere Survey District.
