WAITOMO COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING A SPECIAL RATE AT AN ORDINARY MEETING HELD ON THE NINETEENTH DAY OF OCTOBER, 1914.

IN pursuance of and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1910, and its amendments, and all other Acts in that behalf enabling it, the Waitomo County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest and sinking fund and other charges on the loan of £5,000, authorized to be raised by the said Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the following purpose—reforming, culverting, and metalling the several roads within the Kiokio Special-rating Area—the said Waitomo County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of twopence and five-sixteenths of a penny in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property within the Kiokio Special-rating Area; and that such rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of October during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

Description of Boundaries.

Commencing on the north-east corner of Section 3, Block XIII, Puniu, near the county boundary; thence along the northern boundary of the said section to the railway-line; thence along the railway-line in a southerly direction to the Waipa River; thence along the Waipa River in an easterly direction to the south-west corner of Section Mahoanui Wharereina; thence along the southern boundary of the said section in an easterly direction to the north-west corner of Section Mangawhero No. 2A; thence along the northern boundary of Mangawhero No. 2A, Mangawhero No. 1, to the north-east corner of Mangawhero No. 1; thence in an easterly direction to the north-west corner of Rangitoto-Tuhua No. 33, taking half of Rangitoto-Tuhua No. 29c (Hikurangi); thence in a northerly direction along the southern boundary of Haupapa No. 27 to the county boundary; thence along the county boundary in a north-westerly direction to the starting-point.

The common seal of the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Waitomo was hereunto affixed in the presence of—

BLENHEIM BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Blenheim Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of five thousand pounds, authorized to be raised by the Blenheim Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of purchasing one thousand acres of the Wither Run as and for a pleasure-ground for the Burgesses of the Borough of Blenheim, the said Blenheim Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of three-sixteenths of a penny in the pound upon the unimproved rateable value of all rateable property in the Borough of Blenheim; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the first day of May and the first day of November in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the above resolution was passed at a duly convened meeting of the Blenheim Borough Council held on the twenty-fourth day of September, 1914.

BOROUGH OF BLENHEIM.

HOSPITAL LOAN, 1914.—SPECIAL ORDER DECIDING TO RAISE A LOAN TO MEET PORTION OF REQUISITION FROM WAIRAU HOSPITAL AND CHARITABLE AID BOARD FOR CAPITAL EXPENDITURE ON NEW HOSPITAL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by the Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Act, 1909, and by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Blenheim Borough Council hereby resolves by way of special order as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing part of the Blenheim Borough Council’s contribution for the erection of a new hospital, the said Council hereby authorizes the raising of a special loan of seven hundred pounds for the term of thirty-six and a half years. That, for the purpose of providing interest, sinking fund, and other charges on such loan, the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-thirtieth of a penny in the pound upon the unimproved value of all rateable property in the Borough of Blenheim; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of May and 1st day of November in each and every year during the currency of the loan. That the cost of raising such loan, and the interest and sinking fund for the first year, be paid out of the loan.

Passed at a special meeting of the said Blenheim Borough Council on the tenth day of September, 1914, and confirmed at a special meeting of the said Council held on the fifteenth day of October, 1914.

We hereby certify that the above special order has been duly made. In witness the seal of the said Council has been hereunto affixed this fifteenth day of October, 1914.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Blenheim Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and sinking fund and other charges on a loan of seven hundred pounds, authorized to be raised by the Blenheim Borough Council, under the Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Act, 1909, and the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for the purpose of providing part of the Blenheim Borough Council’s contribution for the erection of a new hospital, the said Blenheim Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-thirtieth of a penny in the pound upon the unimproved rateable value of all rateable property in the Borough of Blenheim; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the first day of May and first day of November in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

CLIFTON COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

WHEREAS the Clifton County Council has been authorized by the ratepayers to borrow £3,995 for the purpose of renewing bridges in the county, and the State Advances Board has provisionally approved of the application of such loan at the rate of 3¾ per centum per annum: And whereas the State Advances Superintendent is unable to advance such loan—namely, £3,995—at the said rate of interest, but can advance the same at the rate of 4½ per centum per annum:

Now, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Clifton County Council hereby resolves that, for the purpose of providing moneys sufficient to cover the increased payments in respect of such loan—namely, £3,995—the said Clifton County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate
