Allocating Land reserved and taken for a Railway to the
Purposes of a Road at Tuakau, in the Franklin County.
[L.S.] LIVERPOOL, Governor.
A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto
forms part of land taken for the purposes of the
Kaipara-Waikato Railway, and it is considered desirable to
allocate such land to the purposes of a road:
And whereas it has been certified by the Minister of
Railways that such land is not required for railway purposes: And whereas such land is situated in the Franklin
County, the local authority of which has assented to the
issue of this Proclamation:
And whereas His Excellency the Governor is of opinion
that the said local authority can conveniently construct and
maintain the said road:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of
Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand,
in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in me by section one hundred and ninety-seven of the
Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power and
authority in anyway enabling me in this behalf, do hereby
proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule
hereto shall, upon the publication hereof in the New Zealand
Gazette, become a road, and that the said road shall be
under the control of the Franklin County Council, and
shall be maintained by the said Council in like manner
as other public highways are controlled and maintained by
the said Council.
SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land: 2 roods 12 perches.
Portion of railway reserve (S.O. Plan 17446, blue).
Situated in Block IV, Onewhero Survey District, Franklin
County, Tuakau Parish.
In the Auckland Land District; as the same is more
particularly delineated on the plan marked W.R. 21393,
deposited in the office of the Minister of Railways at
Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and
thereon coloured neutral tint.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile,
Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the
Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian
Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over His Majesty's Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under
the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this thirtieth day of
October, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and fourteen.

Defining the Middle-line of a Further Portion of the Otago Central Railway (Portion of Cromwell Section).

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the Otago Central Railway (hereinafter
termed “the said railway”) is a railway the construction of which is authorized by the Public Works Act, 1908 : And whereas the said railway has been partly constructed, and it has been determined to construct and maintain a further portion of the same:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of
Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand,
in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by section one hundred and eighty-eight of
the Public Works Act, 1908, and in exercise of every other
power and authority in anyway enabling me in this behalf,
do hereby proclaim and declare that the middle-line of the
said further portion of the said railway shall be that defined
and set forth in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
COMMENCING at a point in Small Grazing-run 221D about 20 chains south of the most southerly point of Section 111,
in Block II, Leaning Rock Survey District, marked 48 miles 40 chains, which point is also the termination of the railway described in a Proclamation dated the 10th day of July,

1914, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 67, page
2800, of the 16th day of the same month ; proceeding thence
in a north-westerly direction generally for a distance of about
3 miles 40 chains, and passing in, into, through, or over the
following lands, &c. — viz., Small Grazing-run 221D, Section
111, Block II, Leaning Rock Survey District ; Small Grazing-run 221D, Sections 18, 16, and 21, Block III, Leaning
Rock Survey District ; and Crown lands, Block XVIII,
Leaning Rock Survey District ; and terminating at a point
in the same block and district marked 52 miles, including all
adjoining and intervening places, land, reserves, roads, tracks,
lakes, rivers, streams, and watercourses: all in the Land
District of Otago: as the same is delineated on the plan
marked P.W.D. 36370, deposited in the office of the Minister
of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial
District.

Land taken for the more Effective Carrying-out of Drainage
and other Works in the Hauraki Plains in Block XIII,
Waihou Survey District.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS it is provided by subsection one of section
nine of the Hauraki Plains Act, 1908, that the
Governor may, from time to time, take under the Public
Works Act, 1908, as for a public work, or purchase, whether
under the provisions of the Maori Land Settlement Act,
1905, or otherwise, any area or areas of land adjacent to the
land set apart under this Act as aforesaid, the acquisition of
which is, in the opinion of the Governor, necessary for the
more effective carrying-out of the drainage or other works
authorized by this Act or for the better disposal of the land
set apart :
And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto is
adjacent to the land set apart under the Hauraki Plains
Act, 1908, and the Governor has, in terms of subsection one
of section nine of the said Act, expressed the opinion that
the acquisition of the land described in the Schedule hereto
is necessary for the more effective carrying-out of the
drainage authorized by such Act :
And whereas all the conditions precedent required by law
to be observed and performed prior to the taking of such
land for the purposes hereinbefore specified have been
observed and performed:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of
Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand;
in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in me by the Hauraki Plains Act, 1908, and the
Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power and
authority in anyway enabling me in this behalf, do hereby
proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of the more effective
carrying-out of the said drainage and other works, as
authorized by the Hauraki Plains Act, 1908, aforesaid, and
shall vest in His Majesty the King as from the date hereinafter mentioned; and I do also hereby declare that this
Proclamation shall take effect on and after the twenty-first
day of November, one thousand nine hundred and fourteen.
