And whereas it is expedient that such land shall be appropriated for a site for a public library, being a purpose within the said Class I :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the fourth section of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908, doth hereby declare that the said land shall, from and after the date hereof, be appropriated for a site for a public library under Class I of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 21 perches, more or less, being Reserve 3955 (in red), (formerly part of Reserve 3894), situated in the City of Christchurch (Sydenham Ward), and being a rectangular piece of land having a frontage of 87·7 links to Lincoln Road, and bounded on the north-west by Lincoln Road, on the north-east (149·57 links), and south-east by other parts of Reserve 3894, and on the south-west by Reserve 3788 ; be all the aforesaid linkages more or less ; as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 20424/82, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Declaring Road in the Claremont Settlement, Levels County, to be a County Road.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this nineteenth day of October, 1914.

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the road described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, become a county road.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that road in the Claremont Settlement, Levels County, Canterbury Land District, commencing near the most easterly corner of Section 7, Block II, Otaio Survey District, and proceeding thence in a south-easterly direction generally, adjoining or passing through portion of Section 7, Block II, Sections 8, 9, and part 11, to south-western corner of Quarry Reserve 3892, Block III ; thence in a north-westerly direction generally, adjoining the said Quarry Reserve and part Section 11, to the north-west corner of said Section 11, Block III ; thence in a north-easterly direction generally, adjoining or passing through Sections 10 and 9, Block III, Otaio Survey District, and Rural Section 15857, Blocks III, Otaio, and XV, Pareora Survey Districts, to the most southerly point of Section 5, Block XV, Pareora Survey District ; thence in a westerly direction generally, adjoining Sections 5 and 4, and terminating at the most easterly point of Section 3, Block XV, Pareora Survey District, being a distance of 190 chains, more or less : as the said road is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 36338, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington, and thereon coloured blue.

Domain Board appointed to have Control of the Flaxbourne Domain.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this nineteenth day of October, 1914.

Present :

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

WHEREAS by section forty of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, with respect to any public domain, appoint such persons (not exceeding nine) as he thinks fit to be a Domain Board having, subject to Part II of the said Act, control of such domain :

And whereas by an Order in Council made on the first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and seven, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the fourth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and seven, a Domain Board was appointed to control the Flaxbourne Domain :

And whereas the period for which the said Board was appointed expired on the thirtieth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and fourteen :

And whereas it appears expedient to again appoint a Domain Board to control the domain :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers conferred by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint

WILLIAM JAMES McISAAC,
ALFRED FREDERICK LOE,
JOHN ERNEST BELL,
JOHN SAMUEL JENKINS,
FRANK SHARP, and
WILLIAM HARRY BUTT

to be the Flaxbourne Domain Board, having control of the land described in the Schedule hereto for the purposes of and subject to the provisions of the said Act ; and doth hereby appoint Saturday, the seventh day of November, one thousand nine hundred and fourteen, at seven o’clock p.m., as the time when, and the Town Hall at Ward as the place where, the first meeting of the Board shall be held.

SCHEDULE.

FLAXBOURNE DOMAIN.

ALL that area in the Marlborough Land District, containing by admeasurement 14 acres and 32 perches, more or less, being Section No. 10, Block VI, Town of Ward. Bounded towards the north by the Needles Creek ; towards the east by Lot 11, Block VI, Town of Ward, 1620 links ; towards the south by a public road, 1000 links ; and towards the west by Ward Street, 1200 links, and by Section No. 12 and a public road, 400 links and 475 links : be all the aforesaid linkages more or less : as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. I/434, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Extending Time for holding General Election of Councillors in certain Counties.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this nineteenth day of October, 1914.

Present :

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

WHEREAS by section sixty-five of the Counties Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is provided that the general election of members of the various County Councils throughout the Dominion shall be held on the second Wednesday in November : And whereas it is expedient to extend the time for holding such election in certain counties :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by section two hundred and seventeen of the said Act, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby extend the time for holding the general election of Councillors for the Counties of Akaroa, Amuri, Ashburton, Ashley, Cheviot, Ellesmere, Eyre, Halswell, Heathcote, Kaikōura, Kowai, Levels, Mackenzie, Malvern, Mount Herbert, Oxford, Paparua, Rangiora, Selwyn, Springs, Tawera, Waimairi, Waimate, Waipara, Wairewa, and Waitaki ; and doth hereby order and declare that in the aforesaid counties the said general election shall be held and take place on Wednesday, the eighteenth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and fourteen, excepting in the Counties of Ashley, Eyre, Kowai, Oxford, and Rangiora, in which the said election shall be held on Tuesday, the twenty-fourth day of the said month of November.
