IN pursuance of the power and authority conferred upon me by section 15 of the Land Act, 1908, I hereby authorize the laying-off of Plassey, Clive, Delhi, Nicholson, and Collinge Streets in the Town of Hastings Extension No. 9, Hawke’s Bay Land District, of a width of not less than 66 ft. instead of 99 ft.

Notice fixing Closing-hours of Drapers and Clothiers’, Fancy-goods’, Ironmongers’, Bootmakers’, and General Storekeepers’ Shops in the Borough of Alexandra under the Shops and Offices Act.
WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of each of the (1) drapers and clothiers’, (2) fancy-goods’, (3) ironmongers’, (4) bootmakers’, and (5) general storekeepers’ shops in the Borough of Alexandra, has been forwarded to me, desiring that all such shops in the borough shall be closed in the evening of working-days as follows: At 6 p.m. on all working-days, excepting the statutory half-holiday and Saturday, when the shops will be closed at 10 p.m.: And whereas the Alexandra Borough Council has certified that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of each of the drapers and clothiers’, fancy-goods’, ironmongers’, bootmakers’, and general storekeepers’ shops within the Borough of Alexandra: Now, therefore, I, William Ferguson Massey, Minister of Labour, in pursuance of section 25 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1908, do hereby direct that from and after the 17th day of November, 1913, all shops in each of the trades as above mentioned in the Borough of Alexandra shall be closed in accordance with such requisition.
The statutory half-holiday is on Thursday from 1 p.m.

Notice fixing Closing-hours of Chemists, Booksellers and Stationers’ Shops in the Borough of Roxburgh under the Shops and Offices Act.
WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the shops in the trade of chemist, bookseller and stationer, in the Borough of Roxburgh, has been forwarded to me, desiring that all such shops in the borough shall be closed in the evening of working-days as follows: Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, at 8.30 p.m.; Thursdays, at 1 p.m.; Saturdays, 10 p.m.; and Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve at 11 p.m.: And whereas the Roxburgh Borough Council has certified that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the chemists, booksellers and stationers’ shops within the borough:
Now, therefore, I, William Ferguson Massey, Minister of Labour, in pursuance of section 25 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1908, do hereby direct that from and after the 17th day of November, 1913, all shops in the combined trade of chemist, bookseller and stationer in the Borough of Roxburgh shall be closed in accordance with such requisition.

Consent under Section 298 of the Native Land Act, 1909.
IN pursuance of the power conferred upon the Native Minister by subsection (b) of section 298 of the Native Land Act, 1909, I, William Herbert Herries, Native Minister, acting on the recommendation of the Waiariki District Maori Land Board, do hereby consent to a sale of Lot 72b No. 3w, Parish of Matata, containing 125 acres 3 roods 15 perches, situated in the Provincial District of Auckland, subject to the same restrictions and to the same requirements as to confirmation and otherwise as if the land was not subject to Part XVI of the Native Land Act, 1909.

Consent under Section 298 of the Native Land Act, 1909.
IN pursuance of the power conferred upon the Native Minister by subsection (b) of section 298 of the Native Land Act, 1909, I, William Herbert Herries, Native Minister, acting on the recommendation of the Waiariki District Maori Land Board, do hereby consent to a sale of Papamoa No. 2 Section 3d No. 1 Block, containing 85 acres, situated in the Provincial District of Auckland, subject to the same restrictions and to the same requirements as to confirmation and otherwise as if the land was not subject to Part XVI of the Native Land Act, 1909.

A NOTIFICATION has been received from the Secretary of State for the Colonies that the Belgian Government have notified the deposit, on the 18th July last, of the Ratification by the Republic of Nicaragua of the International Maritime Conventions relating to Collisions and Salvage, signed at Brussels on the 23rd September, 1910.
