Section 10.—Similar to Sections 8 and 9. Fenced near road frontage for 20 chains. Distant from Dannevirke three miles and a half.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION.
The land is situated some two miles and three-quarters from Dannevirke. The access is by metalled dray-road. The block was originally more or less heavily timbered, but is now cleared, and carrying native and exotic grasses. The altitude is some 500 ft. to 600 ft. above sea-level. Small patches of shelter-bush are to be found near north-eastern corner of Section 6, north-western corner of Section 7, and fringing the banks of the Manawatu River. The land may be described as flat terrace country, suitable for dairying. Some of the sections are well watered; in other cases water will have to be obtained by sinking. The soil is good to fair, and varies from a rich alluvial deposit to a light chocolate loam and gravel formation, on clay subsoil. The fencing is mostly old, and its value, which is small, is included in the capital values of the sections.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this sixth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen.
