DESCRIPTIONS OF SECTIONS.

Sections 22, 24, 26, 27, Block XIV, Mount Robinson.—Situated on the Heatherlea Road, about three to four miles from Levin and from a mile and a quarter to two miles from a dairy factory. They comprise undulating and flat old bush land, the soil being of a good character resting on a sandstone formation. Suitable for small dairy-farms.

Sections 23 and 25, Block XIV, Mount Robinson.—Situated at the end of Sorensen Road, about three miles and a half from Levin and two miles and a half from a dairy factory. Flat and undulating old bush land in grass, the soil being of good character resting on a sandstone formation. Suitable for small dairy-farms.

Sections 49, 50, and 51, Block II, Waiopohu.—Situated on Arapaepae Road, about two miles and a half to three miles from Levin and from half a mile to one mile from a dairy factory. Flat and undulating old bush land in grass, the soil being of a good character resting on a sandstone formation. Suitable for small dairy-farms.

Sections 52, 53, 58, 59, Block II, Waiopohu.—Situated on the Fairfield Road, about two miles to two miles and a half from Levin and from one mile and a half to two miles from a dairy factory. Flat and undulating land, the soil being of a good character resting on a sandstone formation. Suitable for small dairy-farms.

Sections 54, 55, 56, 57, 60, 61, 62, 63, 64, 65, 66, 67, 68, Block II, Waiopohu.—Situated on the Rosslyn Road, about from one mile and a half to two miles from Levin, the larger sections being about one mile and three quarters to two miles from a dairy factory and suitable for small dairy-farms. The small sections consist for the most part of flat land, the larger sections being undulating. The five-acre lots afford workers in the locality a good chance of making homes for themselves. The soil is good, resting on a sandstone formation. Some of the sections are still partly in bush.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION.

Heatherlea Settlement is situated to the north of the Town of Levin, on the railway between Wellington and Palmerston North. The distance from Levin Post-office ranges from a mile and a half to three miles and a half. There are dairy factories within from half a mile to two miles and a half of the settlement. The land is of good quality, resting upon a sandstone formation, and is generally flat, with undulations in places. Most of the sections are watered by streams; water may also probably be obtained on the sections at depths of from 12 ft. to 25 ft. The whole of the land, with the exception of the clumps of bush, was originally covered with tawa, pukatea, rimu, matai, and mahoe bush; but it has been cleared and laid down in English grass for many years, and much of the timber now remaining is in an advanced state of decay. Existing fences and other improvements are shown on the sale plan. The altitude varies from 130 ft. to 160 ft. above sea-level.

Section 52, Block II, Waiopohu Survey District, is offered subject to the right on the part of the Government of ingress, egress, and regress, for the purpose of removing gravel from the hillock thereon.
