Opening Settlement Lands in Wellington Land District for Selection.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the settlement lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Wednesday, the seventeenth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen, at the rentals mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said lands shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Acts.

Situated in Pitt Settlement, about a mile and a half south-west of the Lower Hutt Railway-station. Access is by Woburn Road and White’s Line and Racecourse Roads, which are formed and metalled. Flat land, in grass. Soil good, on shingle formation.
MAKARA COUNTY.—BELMONT SURVEY DISTRICT.—PAPARANGI SETTLEMENT.

Weighted with £383 5s. for improvements.
Situated near the north boundary of Johnsonville Township, the access being from Johnsonville Railway-station, which is about 35 chains distant by a metalled dray-road. Easy sloping land in grass, with good building-site. Soil is of a light nature, on clay formation. Elevation about 400 ft. above sea-level.
The improvements, which must be paid for in cash by the selector, comprise about 11 chains of fencing, six-roomed house with verandah, double brick chimney, &c., wash-house and copper, dairy, excavation, stable, and sheds, the whole valued at £383 5s.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-fifth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen.

The improvements which are not included in the price of the section but which must be paid for separately consist of 15 chains of fencing, valued at £4 10s.
