A small flat on Run 86; remainder of land mostly broken, with a few narrow swamps; the runs have each a small clump of light mixed forest comprising small puriri, tawa, and rewarewa, with light undergrowth of supplejack; balance covered with fern and teatree. Soil of an inferior sandy nature, with clay subsoil, resting on sandstone and basaltic formation. Run 86 well watered by Te Puna River and small streams; Run 85 fairly well watered by swampy streams. Situated from nine to eleven miles from Tauranga, and about half a mile off the main Tauranga—Waihi coach-road.
