Land reserved under the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, in
the Otago Land District.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908
(hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), a
Scenery Preservation Board is constituted, and it is
enacted that such Board shall, when so directed by the
Minister charged for the time being with the administra-
tion of the said Act, inspect any lands possessing scenic or
historic interest, or on which there are thermal springs,
and make inquiries respecting the same, and report to the
Governor; and shall from time to time recommend what
lands, whether Crown or private, shall be permanently
reserved as scenic, thermal, or historic reserves: And
whereas the said Board was duly directed to inspect and
report on the land described in the Schedule hereunder,
and has recommended that the said land should be per-
manently reserved for scenic purposes, and it is expedient
to give effect to such recommendation:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of
Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand,
in pursuance and exercise of the powers contained in the
said Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land
described in the Schedule hereunder shall be a scenic
reserve under the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, and
subject to the provisions thereof.

SCHEDULE.

WAIPORI FALLS SCENIC RESERVE.

ALL that area in the Otago Land District, containing by
admeasurement 1,262 acres, more or less, being Sections
Nos. 54 and 55, Block XV, Maungatua Survey District, and
Section No. 7, Block X, Waipori Survey District. Bounded
towards the north-west by Section No. 6, Block X, Waipori
Survey District, a distance of 5264·2 links; towards the
north by part of Section No. 7, Block VIII, Waipori Survey
District, the crossing of a road-line, and by part of Section
No. 11, Block XIII, Maungatua Survey District, a distance of
5805·5 links; towards the north-east generally by Section
No. 53, Block XV, Maungatua Survey District, a distance of
10788·5 links, and by a public road, a distance of 18677·5
links; towards the south generally by a public road fronting
the Waipori River, a distance of 34820 links; and towards the
south-west by Crown lands, a distance of 5287 links: ex-
cepting three road-lines, each 100 links wide, which intersect
the above-described area: be all the aforesaid linkages more
or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and
S. 437/20, deposited in the Head Office, Department of
Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile,
Earl of Liverpool, Knight Commander of the
Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian
Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over His Majesty's Dominion of New Zea-
land and its Dependencies; and issued under
the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Govern-
ment House, at Wellington, this thirtieth day of
January, in the year of our Lord one thousand
nine hundred and thirteen.

Declaring Land set apart as a Scenic Reserve under the
Land Act, 1892, to be subject to the Scenery Preservation
Act, 1908.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto
was by Warrant dated the thirtieth day of August,
one thousand nine hundred and five, permanently set apart
as a scenic reserve under the provisions of the Land Act,
1892: And whereas it is expedient that the said land should
be declared a reserve under the Scenery Preservation Act,
1908:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of
Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in
pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section
twelve of the Scenery Preservation Amendment Act, 1910,
do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in
the Schedule hereto shall, from and after the date hereof,
be a scenic reserve under the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908,
and its amendments.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Westland Land District, containing by
admeasurement 1,347 acres, more or less, being Section 638
(in red), Block XIII, Hohonu Survey District; and more
particularly described in the Schedule to a Warrant dated
the 9th day of May, 1905, and published in Gazette No. 45, of
the 18th day of May, 1905, page 1141.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile,
Earl of Liverpool, Knight Commander of the
Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian
Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over His Majesty's Dominion of New Zea-
land and its Dependencies; and issued under
the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Govern-
ment House, at Wellington, this fourth day of
February, in the year of our Lord one thousand
nine hundred and thirteen.

Land withdrawn from State Forest reservation.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land specified in Part I of the Schedule
hereto is a State forest under the control of the
Commissioner of State Forests appointed under the State
Forests Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), and
the said land is now no longer required for State-forest
purposes: And whereas plans showing the extent and
position of the said land, and a statement of the reasons
why it is no longer required for State forest purposes, have
been laid before both Houses of Parliament for a period of
thirty days, and no resolution has been passed by either of
such Houses objecting to the issue of this Proclamation:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the
Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of
the powers conferred by section twenty-eight of the said
Act, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this
behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke
the Proclamation specified in Part II of the said Schedule,
as from the date of the publication hereof in the New
Zealand Gazette; and doth hereby proclaim and declare
that from and after such date the parcel of land described
in Part I of the said Schedule shall be no longer subject to
the provisions of the said Act.

SCHEDULE.

PART I.

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, containing
660 acres, more or less, being a State Forest Reserve, situated
in the Parish of Owhiwa. Bounded towards the north-west,
north, and north-east generally by a public road; towards
the south-east by Allotments Nos. 227, 238, 237, and 5 of the
Parish of Owhiwa; and towards the south-west by Allot-
ment No. 4 of the aforesaid parish: as the same is delineated
on the plan marked L. and S. 5285/5, deposited in the Head
Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and
thereon edged red.

PART II.

Proclamation dated 23rd January, 1895, and published in
the New Zealand Gazette No. 8, of 31st January, 1895, page 175.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile,
Earl of Liverpool, Knight Commander of the
Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian
Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
