Notifying Lands in Auckland Land District for Sale by Public Auction.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-twenty-sixth section of the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Friday, the nineteenth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen, as the time at which the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction; and I do hereby fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.

Section 287A fronts Grey and Brookfield Streets, and is fenced on north, south, and west sides by old four-barbed-wire fence. •

Soil poor clay, on slate formation; worked-out gum land; well watered by swampy gully. Distant a mile and a half from Kaukapakapa by cart-road to within short distance of section.
West Taupo County.—Punui Survey District.

Altitude, about 100 ft. above sea-level. Fern and grass land, almost level. Soil of second-class quality, on clay subsoil; no water on section. Distant half a mile from Te Mawhai Railway-station by good road.

Opening Lands in Auckland Land District for Sale or Selection.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided by section one hundred and fifty-four of the said Act, do hereby declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on Monday, the fifteenth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase, or on renewable lease; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1908.

Altitude, 30 ft. to 580 ft. above sea-level. Several acres of river-flat, balance hilly and undulating; a few acres of ordinary light mixed forest in gullies; remainder fern and manuka country. Soil inferior clay, on clay and papa formation; well watered by streams. Distant three miles from Kawakawa Railway-station by formed cart-road.
RODNEY COUNTY.—PAKIRI PARISH.

Altitude, 150 ft. to 400 ft. above sea-level. Broken land, intersected by two steep gorges; covered with fern and manuka, with a few dead kauri rickers. A considerable amount of kauri has been worked off this land in the past. Soil brown loam of inferior quality, on clay subsoil; watered by running stream, which is difficult of access owing to steepness of banks. Distant nine miles from Leigh Village by formed road, metalled for about two miles.
HOKIANGA COUNTY.—PUNAKITERE SURVEY DISTRICT.

Altitude, 100 ft. to 250 ft. above sea-level. Undulating to hilly country, covered with fern and manuka, except a narrow strip of ordinary mixed forest along southern boundary. Soil volcanic and inferior clay, on clay subsoil; no water in summer months. Distant five miles and a half from Taheke, three miles of which is by cart-road, balance unformed rough track.
BAY OF ISLANDS COUNTY.—KAWAKAWA PARISH.

Altitude, 10 ft. to 442 ft. above sea-level. Hilly to broken land; about 20 acres ordinary light mixed forest, balance fern and scrub. Soil inferior clay, on clay subsoil; indifferently watered by swampy streams. Distant three-quarters of a mile from Taumarere Railway-station by partly formed cart-road. The ford across the river is a very fair one.
MANGONUI COUNTY.—MURIWHENUA SURVEY DISTRICT.

Altitude, 60 ft. to 70 ft. above sea-level. Level and undulating land, covered with fern, manuka, and raupo. Soil of a sandy swampy nature, resting on sandstone formation; well watered by stream. Distant eleven miles from Waihopo Landing by partly formed wagon-road.
