Lands reserved under the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908
(hereinafter referred to as "the said Act"), a
Scenery Preservation Board is constituted, and it is
enacted that such Board shall, when so directed by the
Minister charged for the time being with the administration
of the said Act, inspect any lands possessing scenic or
historic interest, or on which there are thermal springs,
and make inquiries respecting the same, and report to the
Governor; and shall from time to time recommend what
lands, whether Crown or private, shall be permanently
reserved as scenic, thermal, or historic reserves: And
whereas the said Board was duly directed to inspect and
report on the lands described in the Schedule hereunder,
and has recommended that the said lands should be permanently
reserved for scenic purposes, and it is expedient
to give effect to such recommendation:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of
Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand,
in pursuance and exercise of the powers contained in the
said Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the lands
described in the Schedule hereunder shall be scenic reserves
under the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, and subject to
the provisions thereof.
SCHEDULE.
WAIPAPA VALLEY SCENIC RESERVES.
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by
admeasurement 1 acre, more or less, being Section 6, Block VI,
Whirinaki Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west
and north-east by the Waipapa Valley Road, and by Section
6, Block VII, Puketoi Survey District respectively, and upon
all other sides by the Waipapa Stream: as the same is
delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 713/1, deposited in
the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington,
and thereon coloured red.
Also all that area in the Wellington Land District, containing
by admeasurenent 2 acres 2 roods, more or less,
being Section 7, Block VI, Whirinaki Survey District. Commencing
at the intersection of a stream with the southern
side of the Waipapa Valley Road, between traverse pegs
numbered XLVII and XLVIII, and bounded towards the
north generally by the Waipapa Valley Road; towards the
south generally by the Waipapa Stream; and towards the
west by the first-mentioned stream : as the same is deline-
ated on the plan marked L. and S. 713/3, deposited in the
Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington,
and thereon coloured red.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile,
Earl of Liverpool, Knight Commander of the
Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian
Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over His Majesty's Dominion of New Zealand
and its Dependencies; and issued under
the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government
House, at Wellington, this fifteenth day of
September, in the year of our Lord one thousand
nine hundred and thirteen.
