above mentioned, and deposited in the office of the Minister
of Public Works, at Wellington, in the Wellington Pro-
vincial District.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile,
Earl of Liverpool, Knight Commander of the
Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian
Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over His Majesty's Dominion of New Zea-
land and its Dependencies; and issued under
the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Govern-
ment House, at Wellington, this twenty-seventh
day of August, in the year of our Lord one
thousand nine hundred and thirteen.

EASTBOURNE BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

THE following resolution was duly passed at a special
meeting of the Council held on 1st September, 1913 :—
“That, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in
it in that behalf by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908,
and the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1908, and their amending
Acts, the Eastbourne Borough Council hereby resolves that,
for the purpose of providing security for principal and interest
of the No. 3 Loan of £15,000, authorized to be raised under
the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose of purchasing the
ferry steamers “Duchess” and “Cobar,” and for establish-
ing a municipal ferry service, a rate of 2½d. in the pound on
the unimproved value of all rateable property in the Borough
of Eastbourne is hereby made as an annual-recurring rate
for a period of twenty-one years, or during the currency of
the loan; and such special rate shall be payable half-yearly
on the 1st day of March and 1st day of September in each
and every year during the currency of such loan.”
