Section 6, Block II.—Bounded on the south by proposed new road, and on the west by 50 chains of fencing; internal fence running east and west for about 25 chains. Well watered and grassed; plenty of firewood, &c. Distant from Takapau three miles and three-quarters.
Section 7, Block II.—This section fronts the Takapau-Wellington main road, and also the proposed new road on the south; the main road frontage is fenced for about 10 chains. Has stream near southern boundary; is well grassed, and has plenty of timber for firewood; all ploughable. Distant two miles from Takapau.

Section 201, Block V.—This section fronts on to the proposed new road, and backs on to the Manawatu River. There are no existing fences. The soil is light, and shingly on the river-flats, of which there are about 50 acres. On the terrace above the river-flat there are large clumps of young totara-trees, affording good shelter for stock. The Waihi Stream, inclined to be gorgy, runs through the eastern corner adjacent to the road. About 30 per cent. ploughable. Distant from Norsewood about four miles, and from Takapau five miles and a half.
Section 202, Block V.—This section has a frontage of 50 chains to the Manawatu River, and about 15 chains on the north-east corner to proposed new road. The east boundary is fenced for about 40 chains. The soil is light and shingly, and the frontage is somewhat broken on the Waihi Stream. The river-flat consists of about 50 acres, which carries a very good sole of grass. There is heavy scrub along the Waihi Stream, over which a crossing could be made without much expense. Distant from Takapau about five miles and a half, and from Norsewood four miles.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION.
The block is situated between Norsewood and Takapau Township and Railway-station. Norsewood is distant a mile and three-quarters from the south-west boundary, and Takapau lies about two miles from the north-eastern corner. Access to both is by good metalled dray-roads. At the present time Norsewood is the centre of a thriving dairying industry. Some of the sections are well watered, but in some cases water will have to be obtained by sinking. The country was originally covered with more or less heavy milling-timber, which has been cut out, and the land is now carrying native and exotic grasses. A considerable area recently swept by bush-fires has been resown in English grasses. The altitude above sea-level ranges from 800 ft. to 900 ft. The country generally is level and undulating, with good loamy soil mixed with shingle, on a clay subsoil.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twentieth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen.
