(a.) In every school of Grade X there shall be added for each succeeding subgrade above Subgrade XA an assistant with a salary of Subgrade 1A, but in all other respects the staff and salaries in every such school shall be the same as in a school of Subgrade XA.
(b.) The number of male assistants in any school shall not exceed the number of female assistants.
(c.) At least one of the first three assistants in any school shall be a woman.
(d.) At least three of the first six assistants in any school must be women.
(e.) In the case of a school of Grade 0 the Board shall pay for or on account of the salary of the teacher the sum of £6 per annum for every pupil in average attendance.

(f.) The number of assistants and pupil-teachers in a school shall be determined by the average attendance shown in Column A hereof in the manner prescribed by regulations; such average attendance shall be the average attendance for a period immediately preceding not greater than one year.

The salaries for teachers are fixed in accordance with the above scale, with the following exceptions:—
(1.) The salaries are not to be lowered on account of a fall in the grade of the day-school, although in such a case increments would cease.
(2.) For extra duties imposed outside ordinary school duties, board and residence for the teacher himself (or an additional £24 a year if not resident) is given.
(3.) The minimum annual salary for a male assistant teacher with full certificate is Grade 2B/3A (£135, rising to £165 by annual increases of £5).
(4.) The additional assistants prescribed in column 6 of Schedule II, Part I, of the Education Amendment Act, 1908 (with salaries as in column 7 thereof) are substituted for the pupil-teachers prescribed in column 5 thereof—e.g., in Grade VIA an assistant teacher 2B/3A is substituted for two pupil-teachers.
