*A travelling allowance of 10s. per diem has been paid for many years to Audit Inspectors whether travelling or not. This arrangement to cease, and the salaries shown herein to be effective from the 1st October, 1913. From that date travelling allowances on scale to be paid only when the officers are actually absent from their allotted headquarters. The salaries of these officers are subject to reclassification on their ceasing to perform the duties of Travelling Audit Inspector.
